Mestral...coolest vulcan ever?

jkayd

Ensign
Newbie
I watched Carbon Creek the other day and it was nice to see vulcans who were not lying, deceitful, arrogant or racist like they are usually portrayed in enterprise. I especially enjoyed Mestral's interaction with the humans - playing pool, watching TV, even going out on a date! :rommie:

If you want Vulcans who aren't lying, deceitful and arrogant then I can recommend T'Pol (Season 2 and onwards), Spock, and a number of other post TOS Vulcans. Dr. Selar seems pretty honest and down-to-earth. (Or down-to-vulcan)

Mestral was pretty cool though, it was nice to see how he bonded with the humans he met, and pretty good of him to bust those people out of the mine. ^^

I enjoyed watching Vulcans who actually liked meeting new species, considering they helped establish the Federation. Taurik had a human roommate and could joke with him, played poker. Vorik enjoyed the holosuite tropical island program. Tuvok was more than just tolerant, and when Neelix left, showed his form of humour. He had a wonderful rapport with Janeway. Spock was so uptight, I felt bad for him but he had a great relationship with Jim and Bones.
Mestral was fun since he genuinely liked being around humans. Not to forget T'Pol, she loved a human. ;-)

Spock was known to bend the truth and he was no stranger to arrogance either. He has deceived the Romulan Commander and the entire Enterprise crew.

I like Mestral. I like the scene where the other Vulcan is complaining about fixing someones plumbing problems and their son says he looked like Moe from the three stooges. And Mestral says there was a resemblence to Moe .:rommie: Mestral was a Vulcan that definitely had a sense of humor.

Carbon Creek is definitely a high point of ENT. Only one of numerous reason to love ENT.
