"Mere Anarchy" Arrived Today

I think you meant to say "It would probably be easier to list the few phrases in "The Second Coming" that *haven't* been turned into episode or story titles by Keith DeCandido." ;)
I have never turned a piece of "The Second Coming" into an episode title.

(What? It's true! I haven't!)

^ You utterly missed my point. My point was that I never created an episode title with "The Second Coming," mostly by virtue of never having written an "episode" of anything. :D

Started this today. I am enjoying it much more than the ebook. I was not able to read too much of the ebook at a time. I am flying through the dead tree format though.

I just finished Mere Anarchy a few minutes ago, and I must say that I really enjoyed it. I got it only a few days after it was released, and only took a break to read Full Circle, but then came right back. The idea of a 6-ebook mini-series following one planet's struggle over a thirty year period, all the while having the Enterprise and the various crews of the past thirty years show up, was great. The fact that no one story had every TOS character in it, also made me feel and notice the passing of time. Even the charatcers changed, just as they did during the movie run. I think the part by Christopher, which also covers the largest amount of time, was my favorite of the lot. Good job all! Hopefully Slings & Arrows is the next ebook only series to see a nice juicy trade paperback reprint :techman:

Better late than never, the TrekMovie.com review of Mere Anarchy is now up for your reading pleasure.

Hmm, local Barnes and Noble has it, might have to pick it up next week. :)

I got it "used" (?) from a Amazon dealer that supposedly raises money for an HIV-related charity. I'm a little scared about the length, but I will jump into after I finish Ex Machina.

Since the books is a collection of 6 ebooks, the length really isn't all that scary. Each story last about 100 pages or so. I took a break and read Full Circle in the midst of reading Mere Anarchy, and then just picked it up again after FC :)

I recall Christopher's story was one of my favourites. I think it definitely had the greatest "epic" feel to it what with the political events and the length of time it covered. The series definitely had a fascinating concept to it. Kudos to whoever thunk that one up. I also liked the tip of the hat in Slings and Arrows by mentioning a Payav Starfleet officer.

As I stated elsewhere I really enjoyed this collection of stories. Krad did an excellent job of gathering the writers who in turn did a masterful job of continuing a storyline and maintaining the characterizations. Not an easy task but well done here. Anyone who is a fan of TOS should read this.

^Totally agree. The series felt like a "love letter" to the original series and should be read by TOS fans everywhere :)

Just finished the book the other day and quite enjoyed it. A great idea for a series, revisiting a place over a matter of decades. If only every major alien planet in Trek could get that kind of treatment.

I think I loved The Blood-Dimmed Tide the best. Definitely want to see the Klingon dreadnought return someday, even if the story itself made it seem archaic.
