I think… I’m glad I’m on vacation for a week….
That sounds so frustrating. Sorry to hear thatMy mother was in the hospital a few weeks ago. She's home now and says my dad is overwhelmed trying to do everything. I offered to help but got told there was nothing I can help with. This week, my dad texts me about mom's condition, starting with "you haven't called so maybe you don't care." Then mom called me to vent about dad and gave me the "you never call or visit". Argh!
Same here.Yeah, I'm feeling overwhelmed too. *hugs*
I still haven't been able to get another job even though I've been putting in more and more applications, and I'm starting to really get frustrated. And it's starting make me feel like I'm useless and there's something wrong with me.
Thanks. This is the one time that I would consider unemployment being down a bad thing. You're not, and there isn't, @JD .
Despite the narrative coming from businesses that "no one wants to work anymore", it's actually getting harder and harder to find a job at this moment, all over.
I'm really sorry that you're feeling frustrated. Your feelings are valid, and it's certainly understandable that you feel that way. But please try not to internalize a difficult job market into being something wrong with you.
You're a good person, and we're all pulling for you. I hope things turn around for you soon.
The antidepressant I've been taking is causing stomach and chest pain in the psychiatrist is no help. How does someone safely stop taking antidepressant
Yup. Cold turkey not advisable so lower the dose and frequency. You have to slowly taper off.
As crappy as it would be for the store to fold, if you get hired then you at least have established work history and that will help ye olde resume.I had my job interview today and it went well, it was short, just because who did only asked a few basic questions. She said she liked me, but she's not the one who makes the hiring decisions, apparently she won't be in until Wednesday, so I won't hear back till. It turns the job starts at fairly low pay and less than 20hrs a week, but I don't mind because at this point anything is better than the nothing I'm getting right now, and I wanted to start kind of slow without a lot of hours since I haven't worked in so long, so I'm ok with it. And if I really need more money, I can just start looking around again, but this time I won't quit until I have another job lined up.
My biggest concern is the longevity of the store, it does't seem to do a lot of business and it's part of a big chain that's not doing well overall.
Biggest thing employers look for is recent experience, like within the last 7 to 10 years, as well as large gaps between jobs. Seeing those can give pause, as well as omitting relevant experience. I've turned down an applicant because they mentioned experience in their interview that wasn't on their resume and didn't clarify further.Yeah, I do have the other stores I worked at before, but I guess it's always good to have more entries on it.
