I have often watched TREK, from TOS to its modern offspring, and while watching an episode I have often thought; "hmmmm, why don't you (Kirk or Picard) just keep your big noses out of their business."
I mean, hey, these people have been fighting their wars with computers for centuries. Not only does it weed out morons, it also is a very interesting form of population control. Sure, it might have cost the Federation an idiotic ambassador, but who cares? there are many more from where he came from.
And hey, Jimmy boy, if Starsky and his buddies want to worship Godzilla's head, who are you to tell them no. Show the women how to have sex? Yes...but stop them from feeding a reptile head? no.
Anyway..have you ever watched our crews meddle with a culture and thought, at the end, dudes...you should have left them alone
