Men in Black III being made (Not April Fools)

This franchise needs a reboot ;)

I was kind of thinking the same thing. Something dark and eerie with a real mystique to it. Something that looks and feels like and is a lot closer to the MiB "lore."

The first movie was fun and all, but I a little too "light" for the "subject matter" and the aura and "mood" of the MiB Legend.

They could delve into it as showing a good hearted federal agent that gets recruited into the organization who slowly goes mad over the atrocities he is forced to commit in the name of the alien agenda.

It could be a thriller that the first half of the movie is his recruitment and Him becoming essentially an unfeeling uncaring monster, he then realizes what a monster he has become and decides to backlash against his masters and the last half of his movie is his rebellion, which has consequences for mankind finding out they are no longer alone.

In the end of the movie we see him accomplish his goal but in doing so he dies alone out in the desert, a man who has changed the world forever, but was never credited with ever doing so, a shadow man, a man in black.

(Pull away slowly from his dead body as time lapse shot starts and shows him decomposing out in the desert and turning into a skeleton in a black business suit, sunglasses still covering his empty eye sockets.) A voice over from the dead man: "In the end I became what I always was, a man in the shadows that changed the world, only this man in black moved us all out of the shadows, even though I died with my heart in the shadows, I lay here in eternal rest, in the light."

Dark cold and twisted movie!

I like it.

^ I would go see that in the theater and I hardly go to the movies anymore. The next one I plan on seeing in the theater is the next Batman, which may not even happen.

As far as a trilogy goes, Meredith could just break up the long story into three movies. End the first on a a major evil the protagonist is forced to commit.
