When I was 4, my Uncle sent me a VHS tape with Star Trek II and III, taped off of HBO. I watched it so many times the sound went away and the picture decayed! I just finished watching TWOK with my 2 year old son, and he was riveted during the drydock scene and the Battles between Enterprise and Reliant(he even says Star Trek when any series or movie comes on TV!). TWOK truly never gets old for me, I would call it my favorite. Anyone else feel the same way?

While TWOK is a really great film, Spock's death has never really had the emotional impact for me that it did for people who saw it in the theater back in 1982. Through no fault of my own, TVH was my first Trek film, so I was already pre-spoilered on Spock's death and resurrection, and the destruction of the Enterprise. :(

i was in Kindergarten when i watched WOK. i loved it and had just watched 'Space Seed' with my dad a few days before. i couldn't believe it when Spock died. luckily dad had also rented SFS so my distress didn't last very long.

It's the Star Trek episode that truly converted me into an ardent fan. I had the hugest crush on Kirstie Alley back in those days. Yes, TWOK is still, IMHO, the best of the Trek flicks, and holds many happy feelings for me.

Personally, while I loved II, III was the better film.

I Though the exterior ship shots in III were far superior, I still get stoked when Kirk steals the Enterprise! Also, Christopher Lloyds performance is still, IMHO, the best Klingon yet seen. High malevolent factor! It's a very hard choice between the two!

What swung it for me was that Robin Curtis replaced Kirstie Alley.

Really? I though Robin Curtis' performance was a bit stiff. I thought Kirstie Alley's version was compelling, with the crying at the end of the movie and the general emotionality of the character, being that she was intended to be a Romulan raised as a Vulcan!

TSFS played continually on HBO 2 or something in the middle nineties. I suppose that's why I have a huge affinity for it!
