....Seriously, folks, in light of what happened to Peter Watts, why waste time going to conventions in the States? Especially if you live in Toronto, which is going to be crowded with conventions anyway.

Just a thought of mine....any other opinions?

Temis, I'm being serious; with the new bullshit border rules, staying home's a better idea for most Canadians, especially for most Torontonians. We already have conventions in the city aplenty, and going to America for three days just to see Mr/Mrs. Big Shot Author or Mr./Mrs. Big Shot Sci-Fi TV Show/Movie Star in light of what happened to Peter Watts and what just happened this week is kind of just inviting disappointment, especially if one's crossing the border in a weird costume to go to a con, and also is coming back with a lot of stuff. Why waste time getting fucked by U.S. border patrol for bringing home stuff, especially if its a Klingon sword or The Sword Of The Daywalker?

I'm sure if we boycott all American sci fi, fantasy and comic conventions, the American border police will never harrass another Canadian sci fi, fantasy or comic book writer. That's for sure!!! Baby, you've got the power! USE IT!
