Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus

Bruce Boxleitner and Lance Henriksen are vets of The Asylum. C. Thomas Howell is probably their No. 1 actor though, since he's now gone on to direct a lot of their titles. Though I'm surprised Howell wasn't in The Hitchhiker.

I think their first choice for stars were Gwyneth Paltrow and Russell Crowe, but when they couldn't get them they went with Debbie Gibson and Lorenzo Lamas.

Aeroplane? You go inside the plane? Plane goes in the air, shark's in the air. Our shark.

Farewell and adieu to you, fair Spanish ladies, farewell and adieu, you ladies of Spain...

^ Too funny
A battleship??
they're gonna need a bigger Boat!

Planning sequal already Mega Shark vs Uber-Lobster!!

Looks like the '50's bad Sci-Fi has Come back!
I may watch this if I have trouble sleeping. ;)
If you have trouble sleeping, just watch some early episodes of ENTERPRISE.:(

I saw the trailer last night. Man, it looks so unreal and it's very impossible for that giant shark to jumping off to bite airplane off!! That's VERY impossible! :guffaw:

Don't knock this movie! I wrote it!!!! And originally it was being put together as a starring vehicle for Anne Hathaway and Will Smith.

But once The Asylum took over, they took out the scene where Mega Shark hacks into the Pentagon mainframe and the scene where we discover Giant Octopus is the leader of an Al-Qaeda cell. :(

Why are you being so weird, dude? It's just that this film is so damn funny! I couldn't stop laughing over it. :guffaw:

I'll drink to that masterpiece that they've created to entertaining us! :guffaw:

I love the fact that The Asylum are utterly unashamed of what they do, and even revel in it. Their news blog includes this gem: "Bruce Boxleitner (Babylon 5, Tron) returns to The Asylum for the third time (I guess some people can’t get enough punishment)."

I'm amazed they haven't been sued (The Terminators puts Transmorphers to shame with the most outrageously blatant example of cashing in on a bigger movie's title), but they seem to get away with it. And who knows? Maybe some day, a major new talent will break through as a result of having got their start at The Asylum, just as people did from Roger Corman's companies and Troma.

I really don't see "fresh new talent" coming from The Asylum. If you look at the resume of most of their no-name leading actors and directors, it's just one Asylum movie after another. And The Asylum's level of straight-to-DVD is far below the usual straight-to-DVD fare. Hell, it's a STEP DOWN for Lorenzo Lamas to go from his stupid cheap action flicks to even more stupid and cheaper Asylum flicks.

But you never know. Would anyone have ever imagined that some guy doing VFX for a Roger Corman cheapo Alien-knockoff called Galaxy Of Terror would end up directing the most successful movie of all time?
