'Mega Piranha' SyFy original movie

It looks like my prediction of "Piranhaconda" may come true after all.

I miss the good old days when they produced things like "Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars" and "Children Of Dune". :sigh:

Anyone lamenting the demise of the good ol' "B movie" need only to tune to SyFy to see that they're still being made.

That trailer is awesome, I haven't laughed that hard in a while. That's always been my problem with Sci-Fi movies is that unlike the B-movies of old they never seem very inspired or like they are even trying. At least that was somewhat insane.

I hope they work in a scene where zoftig Tiffany can say "I think we're alone now.".

This isn't a SyFy "original" despite their ads -- this is a cheap Asylum flick that SyFy just happens to be the first to air. Why they keep premiering them, who knows? I guess because they're super cheap to obtain and no one's watching the network anyway.

Stargate Universe, Caprica and Eureka are SyFy "originals." Is Riverworld made by SyFy?

Oh my God, I didn't realize it was HER :D

I was like "Is that Greg Brady?!!" and then the other guy says "It was giant Piranha!" and I'm afraid I almost soiled myself.

Well, they did one with Debbie Gibson so I guess they figured they should keep going with it.

I knew they'd do a piranha movie but not this quick. It's typical Syfy schlock though so I'm not expecting much of it.

oh my god.

Syfy's Saturday night movie "Mega Piranha" drew 2.2 million viewers, making it the channel's most-watched movie of the year. Of those, 807,000 were adults 18-49 (or, more interestingly, about 1.4 million people watching "Mega Piranha" on a Saturday night were not adults 18-49).

This is also a larger audience number than Syfy's Friday night drama "Caprica" has ever seen (and outdraws what "Stargate: Universe" typically pulls as well, though the "Universe" premiere was higher).

If you want to do giant piranha that's fine, but it looks like they spend more time on land and in the air eating helicopters than they do swimming. I'm a bit stunned, I could never waste my time watching this.
