Meeting the creators!

I presented a couple of panels at ConDor this weekend, and I had the extreme pleasure of meeting some of the names I'd always read about but never saw in the flesh.

David Gerrold was quite cool, and very outspoken in his criticism of corporate crackdowns on piracy, arguing for commercial/social rather than legal solutions.

John and Bjo Trimble had some excellent anecdotes about Forrie Ackerman and Ike Asimov. They are delightful people.

D.C.Fontana was also very nice, and she brought perspective on the transition of franchise to movies (Trek and otherwise).

A great weekend! Have you met Trek-related folks, and were they positive experiences?

Saw James Doohan and Robin Curtis speak, but did not meet either of them. Met Marc Scott Zicree, who had a story credit on "Far Beyond The Stars" for DS9 (in fact, he is in the uncropped version of my avatar pic). I think that's it. Zicree was friendly. Doohan stuck to his oft-reviewed con speech/one-liners. Curtis was earthy and funny.
