McQuarrie-Class Starship...

Atolm

Commodore
Commodore
Not genre specific, and pan-generic, but rather a concept that I have interpreted to reflect his ideologies and themes based on trends that i have noticed in his starship work throughout his long and illustrious career. Anyway My humble salute to you McQuarrie.

I like this design... a lot. I think you've channeled the McQuarrie vibe perfectly. Excellent stuff and I really like seeing your development sketches, very cool stuff all around!

Nice homage to McQuarrie and a very imaginative design on your part. I get a Star Wars meets Star Trek vibe (in a very good way.)

I also enjoy your study sketches. They give us an idea how you develop your designs into a 'finished' product - much like McQuarrie did.

The side view of the McQuarrie-prise you have best matches this painting

If you don't mind, see if you can draw orthos of this ship fitting his artwork. Ken Adams made one saucer a bit thick--and layered, where I love the rounded saucer you have drawn which looks dead-on. Ken also did the study models that Ralph painted here:

Thanks mates, I was just hoping to do him some justice. Wanted the ship to be multi-genre, but no also fit no Genre proper.

Really, really awesome. I've been wanting to build something unique, and non-trek for a while... do you mind if this goes in my "to build" folder?

With appropriate credit, of course. :)

I thought it was pretty cool that in the Enterprise episode "In the Mirror Darkly" the Defiant was found in a asteroid similar to the Ralph McQuarrie painting, possibly as a tribute?

Hello all,
I bookmarked this thread sometime back, becuase I found the above designs fascinating. The image links have since been broken. Can anyone here help in this manner?

Oh well.

I'd like to see Atolm do a hybrid between that and Discovery. I like the bevel edge to the secondary hull/nacelle supports.
