Todd McFarlane showed off some of the new action figures today at Star Trek Las Vegas.

Picard 7 inch

10 inch Kirk in green tunic will be coming packaged as seen in the big Tribble scene where they fall on him.

Discovery figures start Fall 2018 with Burnham & T'Kumva

They all the license for all series and Prime timeline movies and want to do everything they can. (Depending on the line selling of course)

I hope this will be successful. I just don't see it happening to the point they can do a whole shit ton.

But it would be awesome to have literally thousands of different Trek character figures.

Picard's holding the wrong phaser. That's the curved handle one, introduced in DS9 S4/Voyager S2. The one used throughout TNG was the straight one.

In this pic you can see it's the right one, as the curved handle style didn't have the grip coming up onto the top like that...

I figure it's just the small scale making it seem a bit more curved as opposed to just being an angled handle.

The curve is not that pronounced in the sculpt display, and it looks very similar to the Playmates prop that I had.

I'm thinking McFarlane will view their Trek line as something that will go on for years and years. I kind of doubt they'll release more than a few figures at a time.

I wonder if this will lead to playsets. The Playmates Enterprise-D bridge set was awesome, and it'd be cool to have something like it, but more to scale.

As I don't get they impression these are being aimed at children, I doubt there will be any playsets. Indeed, given they only seem to be releasing two figures per year, there wouldn't exactly be much for a playset to do.

What I love about the figures is that for the incredible quality of likeness and detail, they will be priced at around $19.99. That is a steal!

I have some of McFarlane's Cooperstown Collection figures, and the quality is outstanding on those as well! The uniforms on the older players have texture like the wool flannel, woodgrain on the bats, little bits of the red dirt here and there on the uniforms. I'm really looking forward to the Trek figures!
