May Art Challenge - Ptrope

Well, I just had to use Redfern's generous gift, which meant "M'Ress," and here was the challenge calling for speed, so of course, I thought of how fast a kitty can be! :D

I'm not really quite sure about the face - it could be the lighting, because before rendering, the shapes actually look pretty good, I think. It's going to take some more playing. And I realize the corridor is TNG and not TOS, but we don't know the Caitians aren't still flying about in the 24th C. ;).

I wasn't really looking at the face... ;)

In that vein though, considering the pose and the...uh...uniform...maybe make her a lifeguard in action on a Federation beach somewhere...

Well, this is certainly an unexpected surprise! Glad you found some use for the "Kasa" set. With the release of Capsces' "Furries for Melody" I suspect Achronicity probably picked up a few additional sales.

Seeing this I'm reminded of Vonda McKintyre's "The Entropy Effect", Pocket Books first publication of original Trek fiction. Vonda slipped in an incidental character of her own creation, a ruby fanged leopardess nicknamed Lt. Snarl (not that any of the crew risked calling her that to her face). She described a scene within which Snarl was so desperate to get from "point A" to "point B", she dropped to a four legged run.
I'm not saying you should change anything, but if you, personally, feel the face is giving you some issues, might I recommend this link?

Yep, it's upon your own forums. Capsces offered a freebie to Aiko users that would inject four additional head morphs, a muzzle, fuller cheeks, a new nose bridge and canine fangs. I used those to create a couple of face poses which I also offer for public download. I like the feet options in the "Kasa" package, but I've not used Achron's provided head morphs. Anyway, it's there if you're curious.

Oh, and thank you for the nice comment upon my fog filled alley scene at R'osity. You honestly didn't know I had a gallery there?

Sincerely,

Bill

Once again, Redfern, I'm in your debt - I'll have to check out those morphs once I'm home (still at work late - 3rd week in a ROW!). I have to say, I'm really starting to warm up to Aiko (just not her anime look :cardie: ). Next up, I need those textures so she can look like she might actually have fur, and isn't just upholstered in velvet ;).

Oh, dear... That may pose a bit of a problem. I assume you are referring to the textures I used in my interpretation. That set, "Felis Sapiens" was originally released by the artist/vendor Daio at the now "closed" PoserPros store. She has moved certain items to the newly opened "Art Zone" store, but if what I read is correct, her "Felis Sapiens" will not be one of them. I fear she has opted to "retire" that item. However, she's a nice person; if you explain your situation, mention the possible "cameo" by M'Ress in "Star Trek: Reanimated", I suspect she may work a deal with you.

Sincerely,

Bill

Thanks for the heads-up, Redfern!

In the meantime, I grabbed the other morphs from Capsces; had a bit of a conflict with the eye control poses I use (if I use the "MuzzleNose" morph, it doesn't do anything to the face, but it rolls her eyes out of her head! ), but the rest of them contribute to a much more pleasant face :bolian:

I also thought about the idea of having her start to assume a four-legged run, so I dropped her arm closer to the floor, in preparation.

To be fair, those corridors were originally built for TMP I believe and subsequently modified for use on TNG and after that still used all through out the original crew films as well, and those were set only a few years after TOS. And Caitians were also shown in those films too, so the image is still perfectly valid.
