May 21, 2011 rapidly approaching, doomsday - ready?

I'm Catholic. We only eat fish if the apocalypse comes on Friday. :)

I was raised Catholic too! ;)

Anyway, everyone can rest assured that the end is NOT nigh, and that just because I'm typing from the top of a 200ft tsunami doesn't mean I'm lying!

Anyway, time to join up with the rest of the Kiwi survivors!

Later, folks! :techman:

I'm finding all this amusing. If the world does end tomorrow, at least I'll be happy, instead of being a nut or whatever. No sense crying over spilled milk I suppose.

The thing that get's me about this is I've been hearing stories about some of these people giving up their life savings because they have the mentality that they don't need it anymore. My question is wouldn't it be wise to have an "emergency ration" just in case the prediction is a bit wrong? I mean you're willing to become destitute because you are convinced the world is going to end at a specific time on a specific day?

I am looking forward to Sunday though, if only to find out what the reaction will be if we're all "still here".

On a serious note, as a Catholic who just enjoyed another Easter which is about rebirth and renewing the baptismal vows, I really do hate it when people put all Catholics and Christians in the same group as these people. You may not believe in god, you may think the whole thing is stupid, but not everyone who is religious is a nut job predicting the end of the world and stuff.

I'm here!

I heard it was 10pm our time... ?

you see the world ended we just are not aware of it because nothing really changed more like things unchanged if you will.. :)

meaning less then nothing actually happened :)))

I wish I hadn't told my boss to fuck off and spent all my money on hookers and blow....

:scream:

Well you know that I gained a minute vs the net losing a minute,// at exactly 2am I watched the ticker miss a tic but of course my watch is still telling the correct time.

So if the Rapture came and went while I was asleep, how would I know?
(goes out looking for mysteriously abandoned clothes)

I'm just wondering as all this was supposed to start at 18.00 wherever you are i the world, and its just hitting 17:00 here in the UK does that mean we have a hour left, or does the rapture take into account day light savings.....that would mean we actually have 2 hours left.......I'm hoping the latter so i can go ahead and have that steak and kidney pie seeing as it takes 45 Min's to cook.....it would be a shame to let it go to waste.;)

Of course I'm assuming i will be taken by the rapture, if not its not all doom and gloom as i can take the pie with me to the other place and cook it there.

It is also important to point out that even when the Bible says "one will be taken, and the other left", it does not say which is the good thing. Meaning: being 'taken' might not refer to the rapture, it could just mean being captured or killed.
