Maximum Warp Speed Of The Nuenterprise ?

Nero's Shadow

Captain
Captain
Ok I've watched the movie about 30 times and there something about the warp speeds the enterprise can do.

There's one scene near the end of the film where the enterprise is apparntly at max warp and it clearly shows u on the view screen she is travaling at warp 4.3 as the crew discuss how to evade nero's ship by using saturns moon Titan as a cover.

Now surely the enterprise should be at maxuim warp and if I'm correct that's got to be round warp 8 or 9 ?

Has anyone noticed the same after watching it I have and it still bugs me apart from that it's still a amazing film !!!!

Speed of plot!

There, I said it, now hopefully nobody else is going to jump in wisecracking and smartassing.

No maximum speed was mentioned, but the warp drive was damaged. Which didn't stop the ship to be able to follow the Jellyfish and the Narada (and I suppose they moved at maximum warp during that chase), though.

It's said earlier that damage from Nero's attack limited their top speed to warp 4.

I noticed that when the enterprise was warping to Vulcan it was still only doing warp 4.3 just before sulu drops the ship out of warp it's warp meter at the top of the screen says warp 4.3 !!
And this is before nero's ship attacks the Enterprise ?

So say we all... er... Make It So!:techman:

I'm pretty sure the makers of the movie wanted to keep the top speed of the ship top secret... After all, there's a scene during the trip to Vulcan where Sulu turns in his chair to state that they have reached maximum speed, with the viewscreen on the background, showing warp streaks - yet the shot is carefully framed so that the speedometer is just out of sight!
