Maxim names Star Trek Best Reboot

I like Star Trek (2009) but I wouldn't put it above Batman Begins.

I liked Casino Royale when it was released back in 2006 but not so much after re-watching it before Quantum of Solace. QoS also made me like the current incarnation a lot less. I went from "Pierce, who?" in 2006 to "Bring back Pierce!" in 2008.

Of course it's a reboot, and it is the best one so far.

The use of "reboot" is getting a little out of hand, though - a guy on the radio referred to the new Robin Hood movie as a "reboot." Huh? There have been so many versions of Robin Hood in the movies and television - every single one takes place in a somewhat different historical context than every other, with widely variant characterizations - that there's nothing to reboot from. You can only do one more version of the legend.

Ha! Well, in my opinion the Hamlet franchise has been in need of a reboot ever since Richard Burbage stepped down from playing the role. And frankly, the Bible could probably use another reboot since the last one was over 2,000 years ago, though doubtless there will be someone who complains "it's not canon."
