Matter of Perspective

AMatter of Perspective is my favorite episode in the entire series. I love when Data trashes Picard's painting in the beginning. As a painter myself, this is so fitting of perspectives.
You know, like when you go someplace and everyone is 'oohing and Ahhing' over a painting that looks like something the cat left on your bedspread last week?
But I love how all of the character have wildly varying takes on what happened. It cracks me up.
My second favorite episode, although it has issues, is Yesterday's Enerprise. I think the Captain on the other Enterprise is so cool, except for the chunk of metal in the forehead☹.
Plus we get to (almost) see Yar die AGAIN!
My only problem with the episode is that they should have had a way for Guinin to have been part of the StarFleet "military".

A Matter of Perspective is one of my favorites as well. On the other hand, Yesterday's Enterprise has fallen into the "I never need to see it again" category. I find that happening a lot with TNG episodes.

That's horrible!!!
How could there be good Next Generation that you'd never want to see again????
Sure, Masks and SubRosa and that damned one with the over-exposed to the sun planet probe one, complete with annoying flute,
But c'mon!
Never wanting to see an episode again?
On Yesterday's Enterprise, the only bad part is Crosby's "acting" and Guinin not being a military member.

:D It's a good episode but what can I say? I've just seen it enough times. I've been watching TNG episodes for 30 years. It's only natural that you get to a point where you don't need to see a particular episode ever again.
As for Sub Rosa, I watched that episode only once and that was one time too many.

I consider Masks and Inner Light to be guilty pleasures.

Best of Both Worlds is becoming that episode for me. Still like it but after the first 10 times, it loses a lot of it's value.

A Matter of Perspective was a great episode. Always love Frake's anger with the "You're a dead man Apgar, a dead man". :D

There's a lot of subtle writing and acting in this episode( I love how Apgar's version of the events has him beat the crap out of Riker, a man significantly larger and stronger than himself) and it ends on the bridge with happy music like a first season show.:bolian:

Now I am imagining his sons coming after Riker with an axe.

I wonder why there aren't more TV shows that have done Rashomon.

Also I think the difference between Riker's and the wife's perspective is more poignant social criticism than it is given credit for. That encounter happens at bars around the world millions of times a day and is remembered exactly that way by each party.

We gloss over this because if our protagonist bias. Riker wasn't a murderer but she really felt like he was an unwelcome sexual aggressor.

I wish they'd done a VHS collection of The Worst of TNG: Shades of Grey, Masks and Sub Rosa!!

Oh man, so good. And right before it:
Apgar: "I'm not the fool you take me for."
Riker: [starts TOS style fighting]

A Matter of Perspective. There are a few unintentionally funny scenes but the story holds up well and the story is great sci-fi.

Do you think they are unintentional?
It think by this episode TNG was having more fun with itself than before
