Matt Smith's appearance on Johnathan Ross gave us an extended version of the BBC trailer, as well as a scene from "Vampires Iin Venice"

The psychic I.D not working on the vampires was great...and you got to see William Hartnell's mugshot on the card when it failed

I almost died when I saw the photo of Hartnell. Once again thank god for the Moff and good riddance RTD. Can't wait for this series to start.

Er, you do know that it was RTD who gave us the whole set in The Next Doctor, right?

I was going to make a comment about loving the "This is Christmas" line but I have to confess I'm starting to get just a wee bit pissed off at people using every frakking opportunity to bash the guy who saved Doctor Who from oblivion.

So when are you gonna start counting the seconds till Moffat leaves, huh?

Considering that was a clip from ep 6, it was a much better look at the new Doctor than the post-regeneration clips we've seen.

And it wasn't bad! I'm looking forwrd to seeing what else he brings to the role and can't wait for next week.
 
The trailer looked excellent. The clip avec vampires... not so much. I'm not convinced that Matt Smith has the kind of intensity that Tennant and Eccelstone were able to project when the situation called for it.

I disagree, only in that I never felt Tennant project ANY kind of 'intensity' or 'gravitas' on the screen. Any time he tried, he just ended up gurning and girly-shouting a lot.

Eccleston, on the other hand, is like a fucking gravity-well. That dude is intensity incarnate.

I think Smith looks like he'll have a nice little blend of joy and oddness. As long as the high-pitched 'joy-voice' doesn't play into it too much. That's far too Tennant for me.

Other than that, for me, it looks damn well excellent! :techman:

I have to agree. The only thing more annoying than someone randomly bashing RTD or Moff are the posters who constantly whine when someone has a negative opinion about either of them. They are media figures. They are in the public spotlight and are subject to public opinion. No one is saying you can't love the two men. But, no one should say you can't dislike them, either...
 
Well, that was great. Finally we got to see a full scene of the new series. I'm definetely excited and optimistic. Loved the library card with the William Hartnell pic.
