Doug Drexler visits Matt Jefferies in the mid 1990s: https://vimeo.com/144305493
One nugget I found really enlightening was MJ's views on the infamous gridlines. He was absolutely against them and explains why. The gridlines were GR's idea. Matt also asserts that after he designed the ship and the 11 footer was first built to his plans he no longer had any say or real inpot after that because he was so busy. So accordig to Matt any revisions to the ship after it was first built had nothing to do with him.
He says he tried to explain it to GR that at a distance any seams would be absolutely invisible just as they are on any large structure like a ship or large aircraft.
Apparantly GR didn't listen.
MJ also mentions he was not fond of the squarish like design for the shuttlecraft, but they had no choice.
At the time of the interview MJ's memory could get a bit vague on certain things.
