Interview with Keanu Reeves:

Says he met the Wachowski's (no emphasis on the word brothers), for lunch over Christmas and stated that they had completed work on a two picture script treatment that would see him return to the world of the matrix as Neo. Says the brothers have met with Jim Cameron to discuss the pro's and con's of 3D and are looking to deliver something which has never been seen again. keanu stated that he still has an obligation to the fans to deliver a movie worthy of the title "The Matrix" and he swears this time that the treatment will truly revolutionise the action genre like the first movie. Wachowski's are working on a movie called "Cloud Atlas" at the moment, once that concludes they will talk again.

While I was absolutely disappointed with #3, I absolutely loved #2 (well, except for the rave scene), and the thought of two more Matrix movies makes me giddy as a school girl!
 
This is interesting, unexpected and a cause for concern. Reeves is 46 now. Is he trying to kill himself?
 
I really don't think there will be much widespread interest in this. I lost all mine after the 2nd film. I would never see it again, never saw the 3rd, and tainted my memories of the original.

The problem with the Matrix films was that everything outside of it was shit. :lol:
 
Some people just can't leave well enough alone. Was The Matrix franchise actually the first modern example of how unnecessary continuation absolutely ruined it for the rest of us? Let it go.

Besides. All I could think of during Avatar was that he was just 'jacking in' to the Matrix. Honestly, in someways, I'm liking Johnny Mnemonic more again.

That's the same age Harrison Ford was when he made Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade -- and he came back 21 years later to make another Indiana Jones movie. For that matter, Patrick Stewart was 47 when he began playing Captain Picard, and the initial intention for him to be the elder statesman while the younger Riker got all the action soon gave way to Picard becoming more and more an action hero with each passing year.

After all, there is such a thing as a stunt double.
 
Plenty of 47-year olds are in very good physical shape.

But really, what the hell? Does anybody really want more Matrix? What will these movies even be about?

Given that they had no issue turning Keanu into a CGI ragdoll in Reloaded I doubt there'll be any issues this time around. Hell, with his face and voice they probably won't need him there at all. :lol:

But seriously, I'd see them. I think they learned their lesson on 'the matrix > the real world.'

Give me two more movies that avoid the real world AND avoid fights involving 1,000 people and I'm in. Bring back the 'mystery' feel of the first hour of the first film...make the whole plot a detective story and it'll be great.
 
I can't say that I'm surprised if this actually does happen. Neo's story was left open for him to return one day and I believe the MMO game did as well. I'll believe it when I see it. Keanu did turn out to be right about "Bill and Ted 3" so who knows.
 
The clip says that treatments were written not that the films are going to be made. The siblings have a couple of other projects they're working on right now such as "Cloud Atlas" and something called "Hood" that has Will Smith attached. If these are actually made....we won't be seeing them for a long, long time.
 
How bout... there's a Machine civil war between the Merovingian and the Deus Ex Machina, and only Neo's prophetic return from the grave can stop the war and prevent humanity from being destroyed in the process.
 
^ They kind of already did that in the online game. There was a type of civil war that broke up if I recall correctly.
