MASSIVE Elementary School Shooting in CT *12-24 Maybe be dead

It's hard to make sense of all this madness because ... it doesn't make sense. I was talking about this with a work friend earlier. Where she worked before, she worked with a very quiet, unassuming guy whose job was a lifeguard at the YMCA. Years later, she had heard that the guy killed his girlfriend and chopped her up. Sometimes there are telltale signs, and sometimes it's just the "normal" everyday people we presume to know, like that shooter in Portland, OR.
 
Hmmm...now it seems as if the shooter's mom was a teacher at the school. Looks like your initial summary of the incident might be correct, bigdaddy. And the shooter now has a name: Ryan Lanza.
 
Horrible tragedy, in so many ways..very sickening thing in all accounts:borg::(

I wonder why is it that (usually young) men so often do these horrible things:confused:
 
It is extremely horrible. Not only short-term for the poor families of the slain, but long-term trauma for those kids who were forced to witness what happened. Many will, sadly, be likely scarred for life. :(
 
OK, initial reports said there were two gunmen, but apparently, the news is saying that it was just this 24 year old guy. What a tragedy.
 
As of right now there is ONE shooter. They are talking to his brother, but that's probably because he is the only living family member. The police were talking to a guy in the woods near by, but he seemed to be hunting or working in the area.
 
I thought the guy was 20. It made me wonder how old he was when he fathered a child old enough to be an elementary school student.
 
The president is going to talk in a minute or so. The shooter is 24, we are getting better info now. He might not have any child there, they are no longer talking about that part.
 
The CT news station is reporting we don't know if his father is dead, if his brother had anything to do with this, and that his girlfriend and friend are missing.
 
The last name of the guy is Lanza, the first name is either Ryan or Adam. They are brothers and there seems to be some confusion on which was the shooter. Regardless the guy went to his mother's class, killed her, then killed everyone in her class. There are no words for this.
 
This keeps getting more and more fucked up as they dig through the pieces. I just really don't get any of this...
 
I guess, they won't say more, but if it wasn't related then I'd think they would say that. Maybe the dad isn't in NJ, maybe it's a girlfriend of the other friend reported missing. More info in 60 minutes the cop said.

Which we should all do our best to forget. Let posterity treat him with the contempt he deserves.

The ancient Romans called it damnatio memoriae--a judgment that a person should not be remembered.

Let his name be blotted out forever.
