Marvel's "Fear Itself"

Yep. Picking up issue one and Homefront as well.


Just finished reading Issue One and wow...we're off to a pretty big start. I just hope the momentum can be carried over the rest of the story. These events can tend to be boring in the middle parts. I don't see that happening with "Fear It's Self". This had an epic feel to me.

The Homefront issue I give credit for telling a bunch of little hero stories rather the Front Line average joe on the street angle, but yeah it wasn't amazing.

I enjoyed Fear Itself #1 more than I thought I would. Maybe this crossover will turn out good after all. Definitely like the art.
 
This version has been used for a while now. He was recently resurrected in the lame Curse of the Mutants story line. I wish Marvel's Vampires were more interesting than they are.

This reveal doesn't entice me to pick up the main title at all. I'll still wait for the 1/2 price trade at a show.
 
Well, I see
Absorbing Man, Hulk, and Juggernaut. I think the guy in the upper left might be Onslaught but I sure hope not! Besides he's already in his own mini at the moment.
 
Ooops. I didn't view it properly the first time. Yeah okay looks like Skadi has corrupted these heroes to use as his minions of Fear.

I wouldn't even advise picking up the trade. This one is just going to be just plain disappointing. Fraction is going to finish Bendis's work burying the Thor books with this and the stuff he is writing in the Thor proper book.

And why can't Odin stay dead? They were doing so well for 9 years before Fraction had to cock it up.
 
I don't blame just Fraction for bringing back Odin. There is a movie coming out in a week called "Thor" where you know Anthony Hopkins is playing Odin? I'm guessing Odin was brought back for that. Just like it would appear that Steve Rogers will reassume being Captain America...
 
yeah, i'm a big fan of Bucky Cap, so if they dispose of Bucky just for the sake of selling a few comics since the movie is coming out i'll be irritated.
 
I'm a big fan of Bucky Cap as well but that seems to be what Brubaker and Marvel plan on doing. They're relaunching a new Cap ongoing in August I believe and "Captain America" is becoming "Captain America and Bucky" but is flashing back to WWII if I'm getting my facts correct on it. I only post this in a Fear Itsself thread because all of these changes are supposed to be tied into the aftermath of this event.
 
I'm a big fan of Bucky Cap too. I just wish they would do what they're doing with Batman by having both Bruce and Dick wear the suit.

BTW, why is Odin such a first-class asshole in Fear Itself? I didn't even know Odin had come back from the dead though of course, this is Marvel.
