Here is John Campea's non-spoiler first reaction to The Eternals:

He says the movie is very different from past MCU movies. He says it is more of a Chloe Zhao movie than a MCU movie. The movie is very dense with story and mythology with a lot of character focus as well. Very beautiful movie.

I have not found the trailers very interesting, it all looks very generic. If it wasn't a Marvel movie I'd have no interest at all but I want to give it the benefit of the doubt. I liked Shang Chi and I was very lukewarm going into that one.

Stumbled on this as I haven't seen any of Chloe Zhao's films which is a nice short video of some of her trademarks:

I haven't come across it, but according to IGN a major spoiler has leaked through social media, so anybody who doesn't want to know it will have to be careful for the next couple weeks. The linked article doesn't say what the spoiler is, just that it's out there.

I'm guessing it's what I posted a handful of posts above yours.

I am not now nor was I in the past a teenage girl so I didn't consider it anything special.

Just clicked on your link, and that could be it, not necessarily Styles, but who he is playing.

I wonder if they explained to him that the character he's playing is a
mass rapist?

Harry Styles appeals to more than just teen girls. He has become a pretty respectable artist in the past couple of years. He likes to push the envelope and my guess is that he probably has a good idea of who the character is. I wonder if he's going to appear on She-Hulk.

This is not something that is a secret spoiler at this point. I just scrolled by two different headlines on Facebook.

Grace Randolph's non-spoiler review is pretty scathing - a 'gorgeous screensaver movie,' but it's 'not an MCU movie,' just barely better than Thor: The Dark World, 'low energy' with too many characters/too much plot and a rather low opinion of humanity. "A rare example of the MCU making mistakes that I do feel is worth seeing - once."

"Not an MCU Movie"

So, it appeals to pretentious people who want it "all serious, all the time"?

To be fair, the source material is not like other Marvel series either. I've read the first six issues of Kirby's run and it too is filled with a lot of exposition and set up.
