Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 - Civil War!

Jean is dead. Check back next week.

Oh yeah, that's right. At one point in the previous game, you had to choose to save either Nightcrawler or Jean, but not both. Of course, the question becomes what outcome occurred in the continuity M:UA 2 takes place in? Or will they just leave both out to make it easy?

Parts of MUA1 felt like they fell out of the Ultimate continuity, but then you had white Nick Fury...

And IIRC there were weird continuity contradictions in the first one anyway... the part near the end with the dead heroes showed Nightcrawler regardless I believe.

Actually, that pun is from a 'Marvel Age' comic right around the time of Jean's late 80's return in Avengers, FF and X-Factor.

Loved MUA1, can't wait for this.

Will check out the video later. I was quite disappointed with the first one, which I got on PS3. The co-op play mode was good and all, and I'm a fan of action/adventure games, but the characters were way too small and it had a two-dimensional feel. I was at least able to unlock some of the hero powers and costumes, but not all of the characters, before I decided to trade it in with another game.

I first played the XBOX version version of the first before trying the 360 version. I had wondered how the PS3 version was. Really, the co-op is what sold it for me. That said, the characters were pretty small and did feel a little flat, but not intentionally flat as in the X-Men Legends games.

Meanwhile, look at the pretty screenshot for MUA2:

Not so flat. ;)

That's actually a pretty good picture, Praetor. To me, it seemed the gameplay itself felt two-dimensional, not necessarily the character renderings. Maybe it was the camera movements and the inability to really focus upclose on the characters and move in every direction (say, like City of Heroes or even Sims 2). If the second one is a lot like the first version, then I won't be getting it.

EDIT: I just watched the video. Only the "cinematics" really have a 3D feel.

Ahhhh, yeah I get what you're saying. I'm betting that hasn't changed a whole lot, but I could be wrong. There's always rental, after all.

On a side note, once we were playing X-Men Legends 2 and somehow Rogue accidentally broke through the ceiling while flying and kept going and going until the map was a speck in the center of the screen and all we could see was blackness and Rogue.

She was flewn back down and the game continued. :D

I think the developers have forgotten about the end of X-Men Legends 2, where Mr. Sinister survived and was supposed to be plotting something. I wish they would either do an X-Men Legends 3, or have him appear in one of the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance games.
Wasn't his plot to get rid of Apocalypse?

They said the machine Apocalyspe was using had been tampered with and the last shot you saw was Mr. Sinister on the pyramid, so his plot had played out to fruition.
