Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 - Civil War!

Trailer here - poor old Stamford gets blown up again.

Still no sign of Ms. Marvel in the trailers, this makes Hermiod a very sad Asgard. (Especially considering I was actually in the last game. :D )

Looks like Cable and Hercules are new additions to the cast of playable characters, though. Maria Hill would seem to be a NPC and it appears we will get an appearance from Norman Osborn's Thunderbolts.
 
I really could have sworn I saw Ms. Marvel in that trailer.

They are adding several new playable characters, like Venom and the Hulk (they were added in DLC for XBox, but not for PC or any others). Sadly, Deadpool is MIA after appearing in Ultimate Alliance 1 and X-Men Legends 2. I guess he could show up as an NPC, it's too early to know for sure.
 
I can't wait for this game. The first one (and X-Men Legends 1) were so much damn fun with such great controls, and this one? Next-Gen Graphics? A direct adaptation of the recent years of crossovers? That is so cool! How literal is the adaptation going to be? I read a long time ago it will be Secret War, Civil War, and World War Hulk, is that correct?
 
^The trailer only depicts some of the Civil War, so I am not sure about the plot though supposedly it begins with the Secret War.
 
I loved the first game, I've always been a huge beat 'em up game fan and the X-Men Legends/Marvel Ultimate Alliance games are in my opinion, the natural evolution of the old Ninja Turtles and X-Men arcade games that I loved as a kid.

I'm curious to see where they go with the Civil War angle. I was actually thinking that it'd be cool if you fight the superheros you don't have on your team. You fought almost every villain in the Marvel Universe in the past game, so what's left? Beating up other heroes!
 
Back in the day, there was an ST:Generations game which did not permit the possibility of saving Kirk. I would hope that this game, like its predecessor, was not locked in to 616 canon.

They are saying the plot will not be strictly linear. That said, the last game wasn't either, in a rather limited fashion - depending on your actions the ending sequence changed.
 
Deadpool was a whole lot of people's favorite part of the first game. He had better not go MIA for the second or, and I'm not kidding here, I would consider not picking it up.
 
At least we can cross our fingers that any heroes we like that don't make it into the game will show up in DLCs a few months later.
 
Damn, I hope for my husbands and my sanitys sake Deadpool shows up. I don't know if I could put up with the Hulk for an entire game.
 
Woah! I didn't know the game would adapt the Civil War story. Cool.:cool:

And what happened to the subtitle? I recall the game being titled Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion.

I have both X-Men Legends games, as well as the first M:UA, and love all three. No doubt I'll love this one to. :techman:

He was awesome in X-Men Legends 2, as well. Especially when he's one of your 4 characters when you reach the Deadpool boss battle. :lol:
 
I wonder if you just pick Pro-Reg or Anti-Reg and then follow two separate stories with the pre-determinate sides, or if you pick a side and then pick your army. I can't wait to see Cap vs. Iron Man and the like. I'm hoping the game ends with WWH and fighting the Hulk as the final boss, that'd be a good game ending versus just the CW ending.
 
I feel fairly confident that Ms. Marvel and Deadpool will be back. They already have move sets for them and next-gen models, I can't imagine it would be very difficult to adapt them to the new game.
 
I think the developers have forgotten about the end of X-Men Legends 2, where Mr. Sinister survived and was supposed to be plotting something. I wish they would either do an X-Men Legends 3, or have him appear in one of the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance games.

And at the end of M:UA, Galactus declared he was going after Earth. But that's not happening for the next game.

I hope so, because I might not pick it up if 'pool isn't in it, either, as most of the reason I play is so we can play cooperatively and a certain someone I know will only use Deadpool and Storm.

Is there any sign of Jean?
