Marvel tv :Hellfire Club in development at Fox, Legion at FX

I really wanted to see more of the X-Men universe set in the 60s (I was originally disappointed when it was revealed that DOFP would be set a decade after FC, though it turned out to be a great movie).

So I'm looking forward to "Hellfire Club". :bolian:

Looks like Marvel wants a piece of DC's tv action...

You mean Fox does, since these are both X-Men-related projects being developed for their networks. Marvel Studios already has a lot on TV -- Agents of SHIELD, Agent Carter, Daredevil and the other Netflix series, even a Damage Control sitcom in development.

I'm really surprised to hear about Marvel and Fox actually working together on the shows. I wonder if this will mean anything for the movies.
The premises both sound interesting, and I can't help but wonder if they will be set in the movie universe. It sounds to me like the TV Legion won't be related to Xavier, I'm pretty sure that relationship would have been mention in the description if it was going to be in place.

I love the X-Men, but these do not sound like interesting premises for a tv series. I've always particularly found Legion to be tedious and uninteresting.

Those could be interesting. I'm slightly more interested in Legion because the Hellfire Club's two most interesting members (Emma Frost and Sebastion Shaw) almost certainly won't be in the TV show, but I'm sure I'll watch both of them if they make it on air.

We don't know for sure this takes place in the X-Men movie universe, so there's no reason to assume character will or won't be on the show. At this point I'm thinking the woman mentioned in the description is Emma.

If it doesn't it would be a ridiculous mistake...

Considering Bryan Singer is an EP for this series... I think it will be taking place between First Class and where Days of Future Past takes place. I think it was Magneto who said she died, but even if he was truthful it still could take place before then.

January Jones has been working on a Fox series in Last Man on Earth. I think Emma Frost could be recast for TV or they could even have January appear and be killed but mentally takeover another body.

I knew from the beginning of the thread title that it wouldn't be that Legion...but the end of the thread title still teases me, dammit!

LLL!

I don't know if I'd go that far. It would certainly help the shows if they were tied in to the established X-movie continuity, but it hasn't particularly hurt the current DC shows to be separate from the movie universe. (Although that DC movie universe is only one movie old so far, so maybe that's not the best comparison.)

But is he a hands-on EP, or is it just the kind of contractually obligated EP credit where someone owns the rights to any screen version of a project (like how Michael Uslan gets an EP credit for every Batman-related movie regardless of who makes it)?

January Jones has been working on a Fox series in Last Man on Earth. I think Emma Frost could be recast for TV or they could even have January appear and be killed but mentally takeover another body.

They've had three different Kitty Prydes in the first three movies. They've recast Colossus for Deadpool. This is not a universe that has a problem with changing characters' faces without explanation. (Not to mention the tricky continuity issues with the two Hank McCoys, the two Emma Frosts, and the two Bolivar Trasks.)

So, someone else takes on Shaw's identity, or Frost takes his conciousnesses and installs it in another body (she might do that to herself too), or they cast people that look similar, or just never mention it 'in universe'...

Arghhhh. I HATE Legion. I want to throw those comics clear across the room. Hellfire could be fun, but unless it's got Emma Frost and Sebastian Shaw, what's the point?
