Marvel planning Guardians of the Galaxy movie!

I'd always assumed Loki's abilities were magic, or at least what we would call magic here on Earth.

Sure, but that doesn't mean they aren't technological from an Asgardian perspective. The difference is whether Dr Strange will have sci-fi trappings or just say it's actually magic.

Well, there is a certain science in Marvel magic. Hank Pym was able to figure out the basics of the science involved in magic in Dan Slott's Mighty Avengers run. In fact, Chthon the Elder god said something along the lines of "Clever man, shame he doesn't speak the language."

I find that to be a idiotic idea.. Is that the same storyline that gave us the concept of a Scientist Supreme?

It currently says the trailer should be "debuting soon," not sure what that means though. Could be later today, this week, this month, anything really...
Need for Speed is the next Disney release. It's being released on the 14th March. If they want to attach the trailer to a Disney film that's probably the one.

It'd be interesting if it proves true that the movie and comics have such synergy going. Usually the movies are behind whatever is going on in the comic world.

"Inspired by the Comic" so I guess they have room to be creative

I know I've read that Ronan....a blue alien dude with a Thor-ish hammer is going to be working as an assassin for the evil Thanos and is possibly a blood relation to him.
Ronan in the comics does not work for Thanos but instead is part of a race of people called "Kree"
Thanos in the comic didn't really have any henchmen and his sole purpose of being evil was because he wanted to hump Mistress Death and impress her by wiping out so many people/aliens. Not sure if having "Death" as a physical humanish entity would translate onto the big screen

Here was some of the other speculation/spoilers on the comic movie relation

It's not a big sceen movie, but we have gotten death as an onscreen character in the Discworld miniseries, and there is the Sandman movie in the works, and the comic features a female Death as a supporting (or major?) character. I don't see why it would be a problem, I'm pretty sure we've seen Death as a physical presence in other movies, I just can't think of any others at the moment.

On TV, Death has appeared on Supernatural.

And he makes frequent appearances in Lio and other comic strips. He's a fun guy once you get to know him.

GotG action figures:

They will be part of the Marvel Legends Infinites line, and will be $20 each.

I like how they set the figures up like the live-action image (heck, they should brighten up the live stuff to look like that). Star-Lord(?)'s coat looks a lot kewler in the figure line.
