Marvel planning Guardians of the Galaxy movie!

Yeah, that rings a bell.

Lee Pace as Ronan seems an odd casting choice. He'd be better as Starlord.

The guys could always go see GotG while the women go see 50SoG.
50 Shades will be a date movie for a lot of couples. The prospect of seeing an attractive actress, whoever it ends up being, in nude scenes and the prospect of the movie setting the mood for some action later means that guys will be far more amenable to going to the movie than they are to reading the book.

I just can't see a lot of guys consenting to going to 50 shades... it's a 'chick flick' not a date movie.

The audience will be majority female, but, for the reasons I've already stated, I can see it being a date movie for a good number of couples, more so than Sex and the City, Magic Mike or Twilight. The latter series typically had an 80/20 female/male opening weekend ratio. Magic Mike was 73/27. My guess is that 50 Shades will be more like 65/35.

Two sorts of people buy tickets to chickflicks... Lonely girls drowning in a bucket of ice cream every night, and beaten down kept men trying to prove they have a sensitive side to their angry furniture throwing wives.

The Collector is going to be in multiple movies? :wtf:

It would seem so...

Possible spoilers for another Marvel movie at the link.

This makes a certain amount of sense. There are rumors that the plot of the Guardians movie involves the Infinity Gems/Gauntlet-- which were last seen in Odin's trophy room. In T:TDW, the Collector could steal/collect the gems and then his story continues in GotG where mayhem ensues. This could draw the audience from Thor to Guardians just like the Iron Man 2 stinger with Mjolner linked those two movies.

And, of course, down the line Thanos will probably be interested in them as well, making the gems the Phase 2 equivelant of the Tesseract.

Djimon Hounsou is in the film as Korath the Pursuer and Karen Gillan revealed at the Comic-Con panel that she completely shaved her head for her role.

Nebula didn't do the bald thing till after she got blasted in the face by... Her Dad?

She spent at least 10 years as a hottie with huge 80s blue hair.

So I have one question, not being familiar with GotG in comic form...

...a raccoon?!?!? And they think this will fly?

The character was invented in 1976 and had mostly been seen as a joke since then, until recently.

Doesn't that feel like a familiar story?

I think this has the potential to undo much of the good the new Marvel movies have done... the general public's gonna giggle, mark my words lol.

He's a violent character who shoots first and asks questions later. Plus his catch phrase is "Bam! Murdered you!"

I think this movie will do just fine.

Rocket is not a cute furry animal.

He's the sort of bloke who will stick a blaster up some other dudes bum and pull the trigger.

It's not a "gay" thing.

It's a "don't even think about fucking with me" sort of thing.

You will believe a raccoon can fly.

If he murders brutally without conscience while joking about it, the audience will love him.

Did Rocket say "Bam! Murdered You!" before the Bendis comic? Because I thought that sounded absolutely lame and very Bendis-speak. Especially when he said it a dozen times in a single comic :wtf:

No. He said "Bam murdered" you to 60 different guys in the span of 40 seconds (Or three panels.) which is really if you think about it a rip off (homage?) to that Dwarf and Elf from Lord of the Rings competing over who could create the most Ork corpses.

(I think Deadpool knows the Bam murdered you mambo too.)
