Harsh and uncalled for.
It might have been interesting to see Troi on DS9, if only because DS9 had a good habit of making some of the more annoying TNG characters much more likeable ... see Luwaxana for example. At first, it was quite annoying when the character transferred her man-hungry shtick from Picard to Odo, but by the end of her first appearance you got to see a deeper side to her, as she presented Odo with genuine understanding and compassion during an extremely difficult time. Worf, who was never my favorite on TNG, became much more likeable (and bad ass) on DS9, at least to me. Now, I didn't hate Troi but she had some problems and it would have been interesting to see if DS9 could have taken her "I sense hostility!" (Duh, they're shooting at the ship!) routine and make it more palatable. I have to say that I'm annoyed at the actress if it's true that she made fun of the show and thought it was boring (she clearly didn't watch it if she thinks that's case). And even if she had a legitimate gripe with the show, it's just bad form to trash a show that's part of the franchise that made you a star. Let's face it, is she really known for anything else but Trek? Dont' bite the hand that feeds you, honey.
Featuring Troi on DS9 may have been one of the most genius shows they ever did. As someone rightly said, Deanna was a very haughty character and it would have been fascinating to see her character confronted with a much more gritty situation surrounded by more practical people. I think her character would have undergone some interesting changes had the DS9 writers got their hands on her.
And regarding the counsellor being useless stance, I don't agree. There's a nice discussion in "The Sound of her Voice" when Miles is talking to Captain Cusack and he's saying how useless a counsellor is on a ship. But then he reveals he can't talk about his problems with his wife or his friends, so who does that leave? The counsellor. Counsellors were needed more than ever in the Dominion war.

From an in-story perspective, I can see that one both ways.
On the one hand, you'd think Worf would want some of the Enterprise crew at his wedding. We know, because he's explicitly stated it, that he considers Data a friend; his esteem for Picard is made clear in First Contact; and it's likely he has similarly strong ties to most of the command crew.
On the other hand, the wedding seems to have been scheduled fairly quickly, and there's a war going on. It's hard to imagine Starfleet granting leave to the entire command crew of the flagship so they can attend a wedding.
From a storytelling perspective, bringing on a whole bunch of people from TNG would have been a huge distraction from the point of the episode. As it stood, "You Are Cordially Invited" was all about Worf and Dax. Anytime you bring on that many characters from another show, it becomes a Crossover Event! (TM) and the crossover becomes the main focus.
Oh, and I've never had any desire to see Troi on DS9.
Memory Alpha explains that they wanted to bring the TNG crew to DS9 for the wedding, but the only ones who were available at the time were Frakes and Burton, and TPTB decided if they couldn't get the whole crew then there was no point in doing it.
Can you imagine what that would have been like? The most famous ship and the most impressive crew in the Federation coming to Worf's wedding. What a blast.
Now that's what I call a love letter to the fans.
Actually, she's not quite there yet since the first time my jaw really dropped was in the 6th seasons Man of the People after some cad had ripened her up, sucking the youth out of Troi for his own purposes. It was the greying around the edges that really caught my attention... She had this hot bride of Frankenstein thing going on.
I'll say another ten years maybe and Marina will be just about perfect.

I can imagine her running off the transport into his arms to give the changeling a big hug "Hello Daddy!" And really, shouldn't some one have tried to get Tom Riker out that Cardassian labour camp?
I read an interview a few weeks about, the one about Bakula looking like he'd been kicked in the junk by Frakes muddying his thunder, where he was complaining about the lack of rescue missions to save Tom.
Poor Tom.
Tom Riker took over a Federation vessel for Maquis purposes. Why would a Starfleet officer defend that?

Anyway, to the original question, yes, Marina Sirtis was rather spiteful about the then-new show. She said she'd seen a few episodes and felt they were dull, "jokingly" referring to the show as "Deep Sleep Nine".
It was a cheap shot at the "new kids on the block". Brent Spiner and Jonathan Frakes had far classier reactions to the new show and nothing but best wishes for the cast.

No lines, nothing substantial, just having them standing in the background for the ceremony. It didn't happen, according to Behr, because it became an "all or nothing" situation -- the gag doesn't work if you can't get everyone, and they couldn't, so they didn't.

You can like 'em or not and that's fine (I personally don't care for the actress who is the subject of this thread, for example)...but there is no need to be unnecessarily vulgar about it.
