Would say both women used the same lipstick during the series. Not going to say it was pre-designed that both women should it could just be that they had the same makeup artist. Talking about lips, would say it is such a minor topic that it is really not worth the effort to debate. Still, just wanted to say the lipstick or how the lips look could just be something that a makeup artist performed to make them look different.

About the lips and other speculative procedures: it's getting a little creepy with some of the posts. She's beautiful, you love her, how about a twinge of respect?

About her acting: I think she is underrated. The earlier B-movies mentioned above are hardly any kind of barometer. I think an argument could be made for professional dedication - many would have walked away after getting multiple roles like that. I haven't seen those films, and don't intend to, for the inverse reason that many do.
Now in Star Trek, the appraisal of her acting has a lot to do with how people feel personally about the Troi character to begin with. A lot of prejudice there. From what I've read, the Troi character is very much opposite Marina's own personality, which might have been why she was originally considered for the "Hernandez" security cheif role. Also in her defense, I myself had no idea she was English.
If she were a bad actress, Troi would have had an English accent, and would have had a much different delivery and personality. I think her acting was pretty much on par with the rest of the cast, which is quite good.

But seriously guys, it's pretty clear she had some sort of injection in the later seasons (probably collagen). "Eye Of The Beholder" was screwy...something was up in that ep. where it was more noticeable than others.
