March Madness Discussion

All four of my picks are currently losing at or just past halftime. I don't see Villanova or Gonzaga going down here but I worry about Clemson and Minnesota. I didn't feel good about either pick.

It seems like the free live stream at CBS Sports doesn't want you to switch games during commercials. I have noticed though that you can switch to the audio of your current game and then immediately switch to another game's video. :)

Like I said, I didn't figure Gonzaga or Villanova to blow it. Clemson almost came back but fell short, and Minnesota just crashed. I figured Tubby Smith would be able to hold them together and get a first-round win.

I didn't think the Zags or Nova would lose, either. It just would have made for some excellent copy added to the mythos that is March Madness. But like you, I thought Tubby would be able to wring one win out of the Gophers here. That was my first loss. :(

WKU has held on to beat Illinois. One loss today (Mn losing to Texas), and it was a gamble I admit.

Impressive day for you. I'm near the bottom with 11/16. A few of my losses were close, like VCU, but others like BYU and Butler were not. Looking forward to the rest of this first weekend. My Sweet Sixteen is still intact, so hopefully I'll come through somewhat undamaged.

Speaking of Western Kentucky, it's going to be a surprise some year when a 12 doesn't upset a 5. :)

Dammit Clemson!!!! $^&*(@!#$^@#!!!!!!!!!%^&#$$$@!#*@! How could you do that to me and lose to sucky Michigan??? Arrrrrrrggghhhh!!!! I knew the Hilltoppers would win and that VCU would lose. I picked Texas, but of course stupid Clemson had to lose!!!

Did anyone see #34 from Morehead State flip Oklahoma's Blake Griffin? Grabbed 6'10" Griffith's arm and flipped him all the way over on his back like they were on a mat in karate class. :wtf: Griffin was smart enough to walk away while the flipper got ejected from the game. This is Blake Griffin who suffered a very serious concussion two weeks ago. He managed to keep his head from hitting the floor, but he hurt his lower back when he landed. Darndest thing I ever saw during a game.

VCU is so close! I picked them, probably because as a Husky fan I can't stand UCLA. :)

I thought about picking them for some CAA pride (and because they beat Duke), but I decided against it. They're not that bad of a team even if people don't think about them.

Let's see.... I totally didn't see either Michigan or Western Kentucky coming. I also gave Mississippi State far more credit than they deserved. Other than those three, I'm off to a pretty decent start!

Told you he flipped him. Man, those refs got there *quick.* They thought Griffin was gonna stomp him but he just smiled and walked away. Taylor Griffin wanted to jump in there, but they calmed big brother down.

Wasn't WKy the team that won their first round game last year on a mid court shot from the sideline?

Inkling Star, as good a day as it was for me... Ii will probably get creamed today. That always seems to happen tome... do well one day then get brought back to Earth the next.

And thanks fro that video clip of Griffin being flipped. What was that other guy thinking?!? To throw Griffin like that, then stand there in protest when the refs tagged him? :wtf:

I still can't believe that flip. I've never seen anything like that on a basketball court before.

14/16 in my bracket. I lost VCU vs. UCLA by a point. But I wasn't off base picking them, so that's good. I also lost the Butler-LSU matchup. those 8-9 games are a toss-up anyway.

I continued my annual tradition of beng Mr. Thursday around the office, and will likely continue my tradition of falling off a cliff on Friday. Games start in half an hour!!

13/16 in my bracket. Damn Western Kentucky (Who pretty much everyone said would win and I didn't listen), Michigan, and Maryland. Oh well, at least my Sweet 16 is still intact since I don't have those three winners getting past the weekend. Hopefully today is a good day too.

Oh my God, a technical and a personal on Marshal Moses for that? That was bullshit. He wasn't hanging all over the rim. Even Lundquist and the color guy said it's ridiculous. :scream: :scream: :scream: Oklahoma State's coaches are livid and they have every right to be. That's 4 on Moses. Terrible. That could turn the game.

$%&*(#@!!$%^&*$#@!!!!!!

And now Tennessee is starting to make 3's since OSU has to lay off on defense. sigh
