... and that was when they discovered the Organian's have a sense of humour:

D*mn! My squirrel pic' doesn't have a chance now!

Seriously, that's a great set-up! When does this shot (sans ship, of course) take place in the episode? From his expression, I'd suspect it's when the Orgs "bake" all weapons, but Kor hasn't pulled out his disrupter yet.

Sincerely,

Bill

Thanks Redfern!

I wouldn't count out the squirrel just yet. ;)

The pic is from the "baked weapons" scene, I think Kor was holding (and then dropped) a sword in that scene.

Excellent, I think a little film grain might have helped integrate the ship more, but well done!

Kirk: "Fire a full spread of photon torpedoes at point-blank range!"
Sulu: "Gladly, sir!"

Thanks guys! :D
I did add some grain, but perhaps it could be more obvious.

I think the new grain is better...though it's not just the grain, I think a couple things would help:
  1. Try to match the focus of Tiny-E with the Klingon...the E still looks considerably sharper to my eyes.
  2. Add some shadows for Enterprise on the wall and on the Klingon. There are a ton of light sources in the room, so go crazy. :)
  3. The Klingon isn't looking directly at the Enterprise...maybe, if you have a mesh lying around, have a tiny shuttle craft directly in his apparent line-of-sight. To me it looks like that'd be just up and to our left of his head. It'd be funny if the shuttle was headed straight for him.

Hmmm...Did you take a different cap between the first and the second versions? In the original version he seems to be looking more directly at the Enterprise, but in the second one it doesn't look right to me.
Anyway, keep up the good work. Love the concept!

Thanks for the input ThomastheCat, I've taken some of your suggestions on board.

As far as I can tell from the position of Kor and the shadows he casts the two main light sources are at fairly extreme angles. For the Enterprise to realistically cast shadows on the walls it'd have to be sitting on Kor's nose. ;)

That's just due to my different attempts to manipulate the original screencap so Kor's eyes are looking in the right direction.

Here's my latest attempt:
