March Challenge: Epic (or not so epic) FAIL!

For the March 2011 challenge, Failure is not an option. . .

It is required.

That's right - our theme for March is FAILURE. It may be epic or minor, public or private, but it must be personal. (A "system" failure on a ship doesn't count.) Beyond that, use your imagination.

Guidelines:

• Any Star Trek era, canon or your own creation. Sorry - No BSG, Doctor Who or Blake's 7 entries. Maybe another time.
• 5,000 word limit.
• Please link your entry to this thread.
• Deadline to submit your entry is 11:59 p.m., Central Daylight Time, on March 31. Voting will take place April 1-3.
