I don't mind labeling myself a nerd and it seems it is the golden age to be one with so many Science Fiction & Fantasy movies coming out in the next few years.

Here is my list for the remainder of this year and the next two years.

I am sure I missed some and I am sure more will be announced.

Any thoughts are welcomed. Is there anything not on the list you want to see made?

My #1 would be Cloverfield 2. My #2 would be The Flash.

A very comprehensive list. The only thing I saw missing was the remake of DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK, due out in April.

Sherlock Holmes II is neither sci-fi nor fantasy. It doesn't belong on the list. However, it is awesome, so I'll let it slide.;)

Honestly, I think 2012 is overly optimistic for the new Superman movie. Despite the recent announcement of Zack Snyder as the new director, I still have a feeling that we'll see Batman III & The Flash before Superman flies again.

I'm very much looking forward to:
Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows
Mission Impossible IV
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

I have high hopes mixed with caution for:
The Avengers
Captain America
Green Lantern
Thor
Rise of the Apes
X-Men: First Class. (I'd be very cautious about this one except that Bryan Singer is producing and it's a period piece. I am now intrigued.)

I can't believe they're making another Clash of the Titans. The last one was lame & I thought everyone hated it. I guess, in order to hate it, everyone had to see it. Still, I don't expect it would have done nearly as well had it not been for the extreme novelty of 3-D. By 2012, I suspect audiences' standards for 3-D movies will be much higher and the new movie's writers will have to really bring their A-game. Otherwise, we may be looking at Crash of the Trite.

TRON: Legacy, Captain America: The First Avenger and of course Star Trek XII for me. Plus whatever movies nobody's heard of yet that will come out of left field - those are always the best. :D

The movie Skyline is one that came out of left field for me. I check movie sites daily and had not even heard of that one before.

What's it about?

Skyline, that is...

And what about the new Clint Eastwood/Matt Damon movie??

@Borgified Corpse...we actually will see Batman 3 before Superman since Batman is slated for a July 2012 release and Superman is coming out Christmas 2012 and for the love of Rao...the Superman movie HAS NOT been titled yet. "Man of Steel" has been a media generated and fan used title since the first online script reviews came on for the Singer sequel a few years back. It currently does not have a title.

They're making a Clash 2 because the first one did decent box office numbers and they purposely butchered the mythology leaving it open for a sequel. Oh and Paranormal Activity 2 isn't a science fiction or fantasy film but horror but like Corpse did for "Sherlock Holmes 2" I'll make an exception because it seems I'm the only one in the world who is anticipating the film.

One more: the new movie version of THE TEMPEST, starring Helen Mirren. Due out in December 2010.

The trailer just went on-line and it looks spectacular!

John Carter of Mars is slated for 2012, last I heard. There's been no news about the movie recently, although I know they were filming near Moab, UT a few months ago.

Harry Potter and Tron: Legacy are my most anticipated.

I'm extremely curious about Cloverfield 2 and Cowboys and Aliens but am withholding my enthusiasm until I have more info.

2011 and 2012 look a lot better than this year has been. Hopefully the next few months will still salvage 2010, with the release of Darren Aronosfky's Black Swan (which is admittedly neither Sci-Fi or Fantasy... however seems to inhabit some fantasy elements) and Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 1. As well as Tron: Legacy, for which I am looking forward to if anything just for Jeff Bridges and Daft Punk's score alone.

Although, 2010 has delivered us films from some of my favorite genre filmmakers: Christopher Nolan (Inception, which is currently my favorite film so far this year), David Fincher (although The Social Network doesn't really fit into the genre we're talking about, it's still a very solid movie) and then of course Aronosfky's upcoming Black Swan, which will probably make my Top Ten list.

I'm really looking forward to X-Men: First Class for two reasons: 1), for Bryan Singer's involvement as producer and the fact that he shares story credit; 2) because it's a period X-Men movie. I have a lot of faith in Matthew Vaughn, who has directed two of my favorite films (Layer Cake and Kick-Ass, which will inevitably end up being one of my favorite films from this year). The cast is stellar, and the concept is strong. I'm a big X-Men fan so I'm just glad we're getting a new X-Men movie and not just some "origin" spin-off.

The next film I'm looking forward to in 2011 is a genre film no one has mentioned yet, and that's Duncan Jones' Source Code. I absolutely LOVED his directorial debut, Moon, and regard it as one of the best science-fiction films in years. The script for Source Code was incredibly strong and I think Source Code is going to be one of the sleeper hits of 2011.

Green Lantern is another film I'm really looking forward to, after reading an early draft of the script which was solid and entertaining. I have a lot of faith in Martin Campbell and Ryan Reynolds is a solid choice for Hal Jordan. However, above all of those choices, what really gets me excited for this movie is that it's going to be "Star Wars meets Superman", meaning we're not just getting any 'ole superhero movie, but one featuring epic space battles and a truly grandiose scope. That excites me and I think for that reason Green Lantern is going to be an exciting and fresh addition to the superhero genre.

Other genre films also hold my interest, such as Sherlock Holmes 2, Captain America, Mission: Impossible IV and Super 8. 2011 already looks far more appetizing and appealing than 2010 ever did.

Also, for 2012, I think if the world will end come December of that year, Hollywood is certainly going out with a bang. I think 2012 will be the most - and I despise even using this term- but the most "epic" year for superhero movies in quite some time. You have my most anticipated film of 2012- Christopher Nolan's third Batman film- and you have the planned Spider-Man reboot as well as Star Trek 2 (not a superhero movie but still a genre movie) coming all around the same time. Plus, you have The Avengers in the same summer! It's a good thing the Zack Snyder-directed, Christopher Nolan-produced, David Goyer-written Superman reboot is coming in December 2012 because I'm not sure summer 2012 will be able to contain that much awesomeness! I also must mention Tony Gilroy's The Bourne Legacy, which is not really a genre film per se, but it's a film recently confirmed for 2012 that I'm highly anticipating.

No one mentioned "Sucker Punch" from Zack Snyder which I'm very much looking forward to in March of 2011. I think "Source Code" is going to be under the radar a little until it's release but it's been something I'm anticipating since I became aware of it last year. The rest of the usual suspects listed have my interest as well.

"Men In Black III" is the only thing there I see worth my attention, and only -- since II was CRAP -- because I've read what it's about and it sounds potentially good.

Espcape From Planet Earth" is missing (Joby Talbot, composer).
