Man From Atlantis DVD featured on The View

I just saw Patrick Duffy on The View and he's promoting the Man From Atlantis DVD's being released. I wonder if they will have the entire first and only season? It's a total lift of the Marvel's Sub Mariner. Instead of Namor's pointy ears we see Patrick Duffy's webbed hands in the series. There were concerns at the time that Namor would be compared to Mr. Spock.

I remember Victor Buno was a great villian in the pilot. The show fizzeled out but there was a following that wrote NBC to bring it back.

The show is being released in two volumes, the first 4 tv movies on 2 discs, then the 13 episode season on a second, 4 disc volume.

Seems a bit odd that they're releasing it now. I thought the old-TV-show-on-DVD thing peaked a couple years ago and kinda ran out of steam.

And to add Dallas was a great show. I saw them along with Knots Landing in their orginal run. We need more night time soaps like this with out all that reality TV. It's not reality TV when the person knows the camera is watching them.

I liked season 1 better than season 2. The uniforms and the sub were more than I wanted in a "who am I?" style sci-fi adventure / action series.

The sub design was cool though. The Cetacean, right?

The poster of the other thread stated that due to lack of demand, the show is only going to be available via 'Burn on Demand.' So, yes, you seem to be right about the running-out-of-steam thing.
