I admit I wanted the Stargate program to go public in the series, but making a movie about it is the wrong idea. SG-1 is a fluffy action show, so why would I care about the political and sociological ramifications of revealing the Stargate to the world? In a movie, where time is extremely limited, I would rather the plot focus on more important matters. Like explosions.

You don't really think that they could just reveal the SGC to the public and continue to act as though nothing's happened?![]()
In fact, I'm pretty sure he was suggesting the opposite.I admit I wanted the Stargate program to go public in the series, but making a movie about it is the wrong idea. Revealing the stargate is one thing but dealing with the backlash of that revelation is someting else altogether, I doubt seriously that the movie would deal that part of things.

And it shouldn't, because that would be boring and turn into a talking heads show. Unless some rogue group (because using actual countries would never happen on the show) decides to blow up the SGC or something. But then the show would be come 24 instead of Stargate.
