Revealing the stargate is one thing but dealing with the backlash of that revelation is someting else altogether, I doubt seriously that the movie would deal that part of things.

And it shouldn't, because that would be boring and turn into a talking heads show. Unless some rogue group (because using actual countries would never happen on the show) decides to blow up the SGC or something. But then the show would be come 24 instead of Stargate.

Well it's debatable what kind of show would come from them letting the secret out and I can't say I really like it personally. It would change the very heart of the Stargate universe, but I also think it has to happen sometime, It would certainly take Stargate in a different drection wich seems to be what some people want around here.
