The fact that there's a "Highway to Hell" but only a "Stairway to Heaven" says something about the anticipated traffic.

Sad news, though given that in recent years he had dementia, lung cancer and had to have a pacemaker fitted, it may well have come as a relief.

Although Angus is the more recognisable Young, with the schoolboy uniform, duckwalk, guitar solos etc, Malcolm was, as I’m sure most of you know, the real songwriter and general powerhouse behind AC/DC. By all accounts he was quite the perfectionist, which is probably how he came to be one of the most acclaimed and influential rhythm guitar players in rock. While nephew Stevie Young did a good job on recreating his sound on the last album and tour, it’s bard to imagine how the band can continue without Malcolm.

RIP Malcolm and thanks for the memories.

Cliff also said he would quit at the end of this tour.

It’s hard to believe at times that the tour before last, the Black Ice one, reunited all of the Back in Black line-up, while the most recent one ended up with just 2 from that line-up, Angus and Cliff.

I know Brian was looking at new technology that would allow him to tour again. At the very least, I'd like to see AC/DC put out a "farewell" album....maybe call it "We Salute You" to complete the phrase they started when they released "For Those About to Rock." I'd like to see Brian, Angus, Stevie, Cliff and Phil all get together and complete the album, maybe make it a double album. I'll bet there's a lot of Malcolm's riffs left over that they could use, so he could at least be represented. Mutt Lange producing (he's done their best!) - make it a good Farewell to the fans...perhaps some unreleased Bon Scott recordings. I know there was a completely different version of "Touch Too Much" on YouTube. A great song that only shares the same name as the one off of Highway to Hell. (May as well link to it):

As far as touring, well, if Brian can do it, obviously bring him along. While Axl Rose did a better job than I thought he would, I really don't want to see him on AC/DC's farewell tour. If Brian can't do it, maybe he could do some select dates. I bet they could talk Cliff into coming back, especially if Brian's in, if not, it would be cool to see them bring back Mark Evans, although I find that highly unlikely, I think that bridge has been permanently burned. Phil needs to come back, if his legal issues allow him.

I think Angus has one AC/DC album left in him, please don't call it AC/DC if you have to hire an entirely new band, that's not how they should go out.

Brian is a man in or nearing his 70s now so I’m somewhat doubtful that he will ever tour with them again, much as I’d love to see it. A new album is possible but if rumour is to be believed, he was quite hurt by how they parted ways (“kicked to the curb” is the term that keeps getting bandied about, though I don’t think those are his words) so a lot of reconciliation would be needed.

Yeah, I made sure Jr. saw Black Ice at Download/Monsters of Rock.

Wirh hindsight, it was a great call.

I'm very happy to have seen the band on tour in 2015, although by then Malcolm had been replaced by his nephew. Somehow I think this, and the fact that Cliff is quitting the band after the current tour will mean the end, especially as Brian Johnson had to retire as well. Axl Rose does a decent job as the temporary singer for the band, but I have a hard time seeing him as a permanent replacement, especially if he intends to continue as the front man of Guns n' Roses.
