She gave her permission before she died to use her voice, so I don't have a moral problem if they did.

I was going to say something about uniformity within the fleet, but these days Starfleet doesn't even wear the same uniforms across the fleet anymore.

They don't even wear the same communicators either. Heck, even their shoes differ.

I can see having an issue with it if Majel was not in favor of it or had not been consulted. She was good with it. I think it'd be quite the honor for her family if a Roddenberry was still involved in front of the camera and not just as an EP in new Trek.

This is exactly how they make the voice for every single GPS. You ever used Waze or Google Maps? That's how they make the voice. An actress goes in and records a set number of syllables and sounds. Then a program strings them together into words. The tech to do this isn't even new.
