Mad Men...Does it get any better?

To the OP: I gave up around 2/3rds of the way through s2. It's certainly a well-produced show with good acting and writing. And there are a lot of people who love it. And a lot of those people like other shows that I like. I just found that I didn't care about the characters or the story and that for me, it was a waste of time. But I would at least give the entire first season a shot since it isn't that long. I don't think I would have continued on past that if so many people hadn't told me how great it is. But there came a point where I had to admit that the show just wasn't for me.

I think it's one of the best things that's ever been produced for television, but if the first four episodes didn't grab you, I'd say the show isn't for you. I don't think the quality changes substantially from episode to episode or year to year -- it's pretty consistent (so far, at least).

I thought the first season was the most engaging. After that I found it tedious, but with some attention-grabbing moments here and there.

I just finished season 4 and it was probably my favorite. You just have no idea where this show is going to go and it delves into some pretty strange places.

Agreed.

I really enjoyed season four myself, particularly "The Suitcase," "The Summer Girls," and "The Chrysanthemum and the Sword."
