I'm not entirely certain, but from what I've read online it's either a reboot, or a midquel set between Mad Max and The Road Warrior. Honestly, I wouldn't be to surprised if they left it rather ambiguous.
I really liked the new trailer. It still didn't tell us much more about the story than the SDCC trailer, but it did give us a bit of a better look at some of the characters.
I absolutely love the look of this movie.

Continuity wise, I don't really care, and I think it will be ambiguous in the movie. It looks super exciting, super weird and out of the box from the rest of what's going on.

Yes, this is as good as pulling your pants down on an empty highway in the middle of winter and letting the breeze tickle you.
I like that the action is so off the hook and yet it doesn't look like cartoony transformer level special effects. Its like someone went back in time to George Miller in the 90s threw a bucket of money at him and said "have fun".

He's jealous that Miller can make a good movie with explosions and he can't.
They've released a new international trailer. (It looks like Japanese writing, but I'm not always good at differentiating Asian writing.) The only new footage is a couple of quick cuts during the montage, but I still thought you guys might like to see it.

I'm a little surprised. Yes, I know the first two were rated R, but that was before the PG13 rating existed. Nowadays it seems that all summer action films are PG13.

I guess he might have argued that his movies are at least as good as THE X FROM OUTER SPACE.
I am a little surprised by that too. I figured they would have gone for a PG-13. Thunderdome was only PG-13.
The June solicits from DC Comics included Mad Max: Fury Road - Furiosa #1. Seems to give us some pretty good insights into the movie's story too. I can't remember for sure from the announcement, but it appears to be grouped with the Vertigo stuff, and it is a mature title, so it appears to be coming from that imprint rather the DC name.
