MacGyver remake comes to CBS (Lucas Till, George Eads)

Ah, yes, that was "Legend of the Holy Rose," the 5th-season premiere and the first of several installments where the show basically went full Indiana Jones. The show's other 2-parters were the 3rd-season premiere "Lost Love" and the mid-7th-season "Good Knight, MacGyver."

Wikipedia, rather. And I remembered right away where that pendulum cliffhanger was from -- I just blanked on the episode title. That cliffhanger -- or rather, its resolution in part 2 -- always stood out for me, because of Dennis McCarthy's excellent music for the sequence. He was certainly the best of the show's regular composers. (Ken Harrison's music wasn't bad, but he kept doing the same limited range of things over and over and I got sick of it. The original composer, Randy Edelman, didn't impress me much. I think William Ross came aboard in later seasons, and he did pretty well. But it was McCarthy who defined the show's musical sound for me.)
