M-5 Computer, Anti Borg Functions..........

DumbDumb2007

Commander
Starfleet knew the Borg were coming. The M-5 Computer was a response to that. It was designed to handle the mulitiple thoughts of the Borg Group Consciousness. It was built to control a starship entirely in case it's crew was incapacitated or assimilated.
A James T. Kirk ( played once again by Shatner) story of pulling the M-5 out of storage and placed aboard the Enterprise-E while off on a mission to fight the Borg head on would be a Mind Blower...................

I thought that M-5 was just Richard Daystrom's attempt to prove he was more than just a flash in the pan? Who would have thought that the episode writers could project 25 years into the future to forsee the Borg.....

By the time of the Enterprise-E, the M-5 would be about as useful as a commodore 64 is today.

No, it would be great. Beam M-5 onto the Borg cube, let them assimilate it. Once the Borg acquired the psychotic box's sense of guilt, Kirk could talk the entire Collective into mass suicide over the billions of lives they'd taken.

Well then, the Feds could have sent Landru... or Nomad ... or Vaal ...

Though I think Jean-Luc being court martialled for letting James Kirk die should have been on screen. Admiral Nechayev: "Kirk was our last best hope of convincing the Borg to self destruct, Picard! Do you know that you have doomed the entire Federation to assimilation?"

Good thing they had Chatty Kathy in the Delta Quadrant.... ;)

Well, Vaal wasn't a good listener though getting the Borg on a diet of fruits and vegetables instead of assimilating everybody in sight would have been an improvement.
