Lumen in Season 2 (Dexter)

What if the storyline involving Lumen and the rape group led by Jordan Chase occurred in Season 2 instead of Season 5?

Season 2 had been my favorite season up until the amazing John Lithgow came along and put season 4 at the top of the list. I wouldn't swap the Doakes/Lundy/Bay Harbor Butcher plot for Lumen. Plus, I am not sure that the Lumen story would work quite as well had it been written as season 2. I think the writers were trying to imply that Dexter needed to help Lumen overcome her trauma in order to help himself recover from the trauma of Rita's death. I, personally, don't think it was nearly as effective as it was meant to be, but I see what they were trying to do.

Season 2 gets a lot of flak for some reason but I though it was great. I'd rank them roughly 1 > 4 > 2 > 3 > 5

Season two is my favorite season -- and the high point of the show. I wouldn't change a thing, except for the very end when Dexter somehow manages to track down Lila get away with murder in Paris. Lumen didn't work in the bland and disappointing season five; I don't see why moving her to the superior season two could possibly change things except for the worse.

I loved season two. The only thing I'd have altered would be for them to have invented a reason that allows to Doakes to live AND get thrown off of Dexter's trail.

Lumen in Season 2 would've been way to early. Heck, Miguel Prado in Season 3 was a lesson in perhaps bringing in a sympathizer/partner too early. While Season 5 shows that at times it can work...just for a limited time. Not everyone keeps their Dark Passenger in tow. Prado was consumed by his to the point of uncontrollable and sloppy. Lumen kept hers only as long as she needed to. So, when does Dexter let go or give in fully to his??

I'm sorry I didn't say this in my thread topic. But in addition to that, imagine the Lila storyline didn't exist in Season 2.

I *HATED* Season Two. It was by far my least favorite. The British girl was excruciatingly annoying; her voice, her personality, everything about her character, the effect she had on Dexter... Dexter cheating on Darla and pretending to do drugs was just painful to watch (not in a good way).
