Luke Skywalker Show Reportedly Coming To Disney Plus, Takes Place After Return Of The Jedi

Nothing’s been officially announced just yet, mind you, but according to a new report from Giant Freakin Robot, a Luke Skywalker solo series is in the works for Disney Plus and it’ll allegedly be set post-Return of the Jedi. As for how Luke would be portrayed, that we don’t know, but it doesn’t seem like they can keep recreating 80s Mark Hamill with expensive CGI.

Isn't "we got this covered" one of the most notoriously wrong/lying news sites? I don't think I've ever seen anything posted from them end up coming true.
 
I could only realistically see a Luke show coming out in animated form with Hamill voicing Luke. CGI face work would just get to be too much unless Lucasfilm has made some sort of expensive breakthrough with the technology. And even than, it is not realistic.

Why not? Seriously. My objection to this rumor isn't to the concept itself but the fact that the sources are completely false, aiming for clicks rather than telling true news. I mean, I have seen fan several project ideas centered around everyday life in the SW universe so why not?

And a Luke series is not a bad way to go. Just unlikely at this point.
 
Why are we helping to spread unsubstantiated rumours and fabrications? You know that only leads to more unsubstantiated rumours and fabrications, right!?

I could see Leia in Rangers. I would like to see more of Leia kicking ass when she was young.

I feel like we shouldn't be making threads about rumours at all. Let's be honest, all these "rumours" really are is fans trying to wish something into existence. So if one must discuss such things, frame it as a "wouldn't it be cool if..." thread and drop the rumour pretence. Speaking of which...

Yeah, I really can't see them recasting post-RotJ Leia anytime soon. Now a pre-ANH Leia centric political espionage show I can see. Maybe get Keira Knightley to come back as Sabe in a bodyguard/mentor/super-spy role.
 
I'd be happy with an animated Luke series post-ROTJ. At least it seems somewhat likely to happen in the next decade.
