I have become a huge fan of the series (more so than the uneven, but still good, Discovery and Picard), and would gladly rewatch any of this series at any time (except maybe "Terminal Provocations", as my least well liked).

Are the other actors recording their lines? I know from Star Wars Clone Wars and Rebels that dialogue for a particular episode is usually recorded roughly a year prior to the airdate. Assuming Lower Decks operates similarly, we could be looking at a fall premiere for season 2.

Yes, Tawny Newsome mentioned in the opening segment of Monday's episode of the Official Star Trek Podcast that she's started voice work on Season 2. I don't know how far in advance from the release of the episode those openings are recorded.

More Beckett Mariner is ALWAYS welcome.

I rewatched "Second Contact" last night, and it hit me during the opening "Captain's Log" by Boimler showing the senior staff that Shaxs' is no longer with us.

Incredible that there isn't a bad episode in the bunch. Best first season for me since TOS.

I've been making my way through the She-Ra: Progressive of Power podcast and there was a lot of unexpected Trek talk in a recent episode. The episode features M. Willis, one of the show's writers, who also happens to write for Lower Decks. She talks a lot about LDS and Trek in general, but something she said about writing for LDS really stuck out to me and I thought others here might appreciate it:

"Lower Decks is obviously a comedy, but what's nice is it's made by a bunch of people who are Star Trek fans first and we all really love the material. Whether it's people like me who grew up with it, or --- some of our writers are coming to it fresh and have fallen in love with it in the last year. It's really coming from a place where we're not punching down on Star Trek. People have done that, it's easy. We're not interested in that space. We're more interested in 'what is it like to be a fan of Star Trek and now you're a Starfleet officer who knows all of the great heroes of that world and is as much of a fan of Kirk and Picard and Sisko and Janeway as the fans are themselves?'"

The interview starts around 4:02 and they get into Trek pretty much right away.

To be fair, it is audio only :nyah:

I listened to it all, but I really can't remember a lot of it.

A couple of Season 2 things, As of that recording, episode 9 is in animatic stage, and the first 4 episodes have been sent off to colouring.

Shax's replacement apparently 'makes sense', whatever that means.

Oh and the Pakleds will be back.

 Never in a million years would I have ever expected any show runner within the Trek franchise make the Pakleds a believable adversary, let alone a substantial recurring threat.

And yet...
