Robert Meyer Burnett is very skilled at Mock Outrage. It's the stretchiest criticism I've seen yet.
Eh, fuck him. I don’t think much of anything said by any Axanar people holds water with the fandom in general anymore, even if he did resign as director and turn on AP.

All I know, is that folks like Burnett couldn't have watched TOS and posted something like that with a straight face. I spent an hour last night watching Kirk fight a guy in a lizard suit, and loved every minute of it.

To be fair, the early seasons of TNG (ostensibly “real” Trek) was full of smug elitism against cultures deemed to be inferior to Federation sensibilities. Particularly looking down upon any culture with a faith-based system (the Edo, Mintakans, etc.), and lest we forget that wonderful example of extreme elitism (and just about every other kind of “ism” one can think of), “Code of Honor”.
