I have been a sketchup user since, well since I can remember (Sketchup 3 I think). And I love seeing fresh faces and veterans alike using this amazing program, I use sketchup 2017, and am just not a fan of the browser version. That being said I'm not partial if someone else decides to use it! I'm so happy to see this!

Not sure if I posted these but this is My discovery version of the D7
And a starship similar to the Akira variant in Star Trek Online.

@BorgMan Sketchfab.com and also been using Unity Twinmotion 2019 to make some recent video animations too, but I'm a total noob, twinmotion 2019 is free until November so if you get it now you'll have a full license for free!! Sketchfab is also free, limited in some functionality, but great rendering for the most part

Yeah I saw, I downloaded a license but as of yet haven't played with it yet. I wanted to postpone that until I got my new workstation but alas, bills...

Hello,
I love the D7. I think having the components stick out more, being less integrated and a little blockier make it a believable predecessor to what we see later. Proportions are great and it looks slightly more dynamic then its replacement.

The federation ship made me think of the enterprise J. This filling of gaps with designs wich give us some continuity is a really good thing and something I missed in Discovery, for example.

I continue to be amazed by what talented people are able to create with Sketchup. I have to confess that when the first version came out I dismissed it as nothing more than a toy. It obviously has matured since then!

Yeah, same here. I *swear* I had downloaded a version some years back, but felt like it was something I'd come back to. I can't find it on any of my drives and apparently it's no longer free. :(

Looking at some of the marvelous work above, as well as online, I'm really kicking myself for not ensuring I had a copy safely stored away. Would love to play around with it. Hope to see more fantastic work posted! :bolian:

You'll have to look around a bit, but Make still is out there! Perhaps oldversion.com can help you out?

[EDIT] Your google-fu is weak, my friend: https://help.sketchup.com/en/downloading-older-versions

Go to the last link. That's the last version of Make, and it is free!

Well us Sketchup OG's have an ace in the hole as it were, because it's open source 'somewhat' and plugins make this program more powerful as a "free platform" rather than the paid sketchup pro, honestly the base program hasn't changed much, the passionate programmers who build these plugins make modeling fun and in some cases easier than the stock program!!

THANKS!! I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I visited that page before and didn't realize the last one was free. I had done some reading on the subject and got a little mixed up on what was free and not. I figured plain old "Sketchup" was the free one, and any version with names added to it (like "Make") were not. Don't ask. At any rate, thanks again!

While I'll probably never drop Truespace, the dead program that me and one other poster here still use, I'm excited to play with something new that will allow me to experiment in new ways. :techman:

And Soran, that is some damn fine work up there! Simply gorgeous! Can't wait to see more!
