Just a reminder that a new ep of Louis Theroux is on tonight, BBC2, at 9pm

Louis Theroux: A Place for Paedophiles

Louis has gained access to Coalinga Mental Hospital in California, which houses more than 500 of the most disturbed criminals in America, convicted paedophiles. Most have already served lengthy prison sentences, but have been deemed unsafe for release. Instead, they have been sent here for an indefinite time. Spending time with those undergoing treatment, Louis wrestles with whether he can ever allow himself to believe men whose whole history is defined by deception and deceit.

I love Louis Theroux, and the American ones always make the best docus. Can't wait to see Louis mash it up with the nonces

Yeah, I always enjoy his documentaries too. I have it set to record tonight. Should be an interesting one.

Oh cool, I didn't know about this. I like a bit of Louis Theroux, he has a very good way of disarming people and getting them to reveal their true selves.

Yeah, it's his naive straightforwardness that seems to do it, I think. They seem to kinda stop, and explain themselves to "the idiot" asking them questions, and in doing so reveal more about themselves than they mean to.

Not the usual "funny moments with the nutters" episode, but still a very good, dark, fairly bleak documentary.
Interesting to see how some of them seem to be trying their hardest to overcome their issues, whilst others just try and make out they're fine and gloss over their crimes.

That guy who saying how he masturbated in front of his kids and vice versa was pretty dodgy (...obviously)

It's available now on BBC iPlayer if anyone missed btw

Gonna have to watch the last couple of minutes on iPlayer, the recording cut off where he was talking about how there's a lot of people who see it as an injustice, because it turned over to record Supernatural and Family Guy...
