Anyone else watch "Louis" on the FX network staring comedian Louis C.K.? It's a pretty good show, semi-sitcom like only Louis is the only real character who consistently shows up in every episode (though there are secondary characters who pop up time to time) the plot is very... "Seinfeld-like" in that it's a "show about nothing" as it pretty much follow Louie's life as a divorced father of two working as a successful stand-up comedian.

It has interesting beat and sense of humor to it but Louis C.K. comedy and sense of style really works for it.

I tried to repeat one of louie's jokes to a friend who is a parent, and not only did he not get it, but he began to look at me like I should be on a short list at the police station.

It was something like... "Have you ever met a kid that's so fucking badly behaved that you wish a sexual predator in a white van picked them up on their way home from school? I'm not saying that I want them raped, the police get there in time and shoot that fuck in the head before anything happens, but don't you just want them to go through that experience so that they'll stop being such a fucking prick and appreciate how good they got it?"

A dangerous man to repeat, even in context.

Well, you have to be selective. ;)

I've repeated some of his jokes and it can work out pretty well. Even repeated a scene from the show to some people that made them laugh.

Louis is cleaning the dishes in the kitchen when in his youngest daughter comes in complaining that it's not fair that the her sister (the oldest daughter) got an ice-cream sundae for dessert and she didn't. Louie explains that sometimes life isn't fair and that there's times when some people get something you don't. The daughter continues to insist it isn't fair and Louie continues to try and teach the life lesson. Finally the daughter asks for a box of cookies which Louie hands over, as the girl walks out of the room he shouts back at her, "And be sure to share some with your sister!"

I've been meaning to check this out, but haven't gotten around to it. I remember when Louis C.K. was struggling and couldn't get any laughs, but he's doing much better now and he's quite funny. It's amazing how he can get away with talking about all sorts of touchy issues in his act.

I love the series, although I've only seen the first episode of the third season thus far. The A.V. Club called it the best show on television last year, and although I'd probably pick something else, Louie isn't far from the top. The season one episode, "Faith," is one of my favorite half-hours ever.

The sitcom he did a couple years back, Lucky Louie was pretty sweet too.

Pamela Eldon constantly talking bout her sexuality with that Bobby Hill voice of hers.

Weird beans.
