Lost Sulu fan film trailer 'STA: A Time to Heal' finally online

Oh wow, James Shigeta as Admiral Nogura! George Lazenby originally cast as an English Admiral named McBride? Really?, not an Aussie?

I wonder if Andy Probert will someday post images of the Yorktown II?

I'm so curious about this I joined the group. Wow! I hate Yahoo. It might have been easier to become a Marine than to join a Yahoo group!

Can't wait to see Takei. I'm very curious. Maybe it will even be better than Takei's recent appearance on TV doing a commercial for the new Quattron TV. :)

So how is this Trailer? Anyone got comments?

Me, I'm still waiting to be approved to be in the group. I can see why people love Yahoo so much. This is fun...

Hopefully tomorrow I'll get approved to be in the group. I really do want to see this new trailer. I really am a big Sulu fan, serious Trekker and potential volunteer.

It sure is tough to become a member. I REALLY want to see this trailer and find out more about this project. Maybe I could even help out. But, alas, I'm still waiting to become a "member."

Sorry to hear that. The clip's fairly nice (damn, I wish I could get James Shigeta for MY fan film), but the quality is very Super 8mm-ish, and while they're hoping to get things going again and use the existing footage in their film as a flashback, I'm thinking the quality of the original just isn't good enough to do so.

(edit) You can check out http://www.fastcopyinc.com/orionpress/articles/star_trek_axiom.htm for some information. There's also a link to a wiki article on the project. And I exchanged emails with Joseph Kerezman who confirmed he was in the original Yorktown fan film, and was surprised to hear that they were trying to get back into action.

Thanks, Randy.

Maybe it's because I'm Canadian. Maybe that's why my membership to the Axiom group is still pending. (I did find the trailer as it was my birthday today and I wanted something nice to happen -- it was really cool! -- but I'd still like to see what this fan production is all about.)

Another half-day and still my membership is "pending."

I don't understand why it's so difficult to check this project out. I had to sign up for a yahoo account which I don't want. Then I had to apply to the group. And now days later I'm still waiting to get approved.

Axiom1, are you guys running a background check on me? I'm a loyal Star Trek fan! I'm interested in your project. I'm a huge fan of George Takei. I have a uniform in my closet.... what does it take? Gold-pressed latinum?

Seriously, does anyone know how long it takes to become a member?

Another day and I'm still pending....

I went to the Star Trek: Axiom group today, and guess what I read?

Your membership is awaiting approval by the group owner

Still. 5+ days later. Still waiting. Has anyone successfully joined this group? What's inside?

I'm so curious about this Yorktown II production and what Axiom is all about. Does it involve Sulu? Is this a new fan production? Do they need help?

Hopefully I'll find out. In the meantime, has anyone out there had success in become a member of the Axiom group?

yeah I would like to see this as well. Just put the thing on youtube, please!!!

Hi, CaptainKen and everyone else.

I've been involved in the writing of ST:AXiom. I can't tell you what's going on with the Yahoo group as i have not been involved with that end of things. I did shoot an email off to the producer when i saw the comments in this thread, though, and hopefully that will be resolved soon. I'm sorry to hear about the frustration folks are having in the meantime.

ST: Axiom does, at least in the plot I've turned in, involve at least one Sulu, and perhaps more. How's that for cryptic? Don't want to give too much away, but my approach has been to come up with a story that can incorporate the existing footage from Yorktown into the new plot in a way that will make sense and act as a springboard for our new story, and perhaps more stories afterwards. ST: Axiom will revolve around USS Yorktown and here crew of new characters. I'm hoping that we've come up with a group of characters that people will come to like enough to want to see their continuing adeventures.

At this point, I've turned in what I am hoping is the plot in it's final form. as soon as I get a thumbs-up from the producer, I will be starting to write a script. I will try to update folks here in this thread when there is stuff for folks in this thread to be updated on. Or stuff I hope folks will be interested in hearing, at least.

Thanks Mysterion.

Best of luck in your writing efforts for Axiom. There's lots of opportunity there... to tap into that era of Trek between TOS and TMP. I very much look forward to what may develop in your writing and in production from the Star Trek: Axiom.

Peace and long life.

If you're checking out this thread because you'd really like to see the Lost Sulu fan film trailer 'STA: A Time to Heal' finally online, be prepared to wait. You have to join the Yahoo group and get approved. I've now been waiting for 18 days to get my membership to the group approved. Seriously, guys, this approach is going to make it awfully hard to build up a fanbase in support and anticipation of your project.

All the other fan production have open websites, why try to re-invent the wheel?

There's some speculation as to whether or not Axiom will materialize, as there is with any fan production these days. As far as I know, Producer Stan Woo is still working on the original material for his Yorktown film series, and Da Han is working with his copy of the same material for his Axiom film series. It will be interesting to see two different takes on the material...

BTW, Axiom hasn't had anything new posted in quite some time.
